While I have not been very active on Tumblr, I have been slowly working on building out my main 'hood. It is huge and taking forever (and not exempt from pink soup, even on Linux!). I love how it is coming along and thought I would share some pics!
And some close ups:
The Imperial City, Myrthspire Proper
The shanty town, Three-Bloods Hollow (home to the Beast races)
The agricultural & trade center, Myrthspire Village
And the docks, Port Myrth
There is still a ton to build. The City needs housing for the professionals and servants that work for the Nobility & Royalty. I haven't even started on Myrthspire Town, a Noble & Gentry area with boutique stores. The shanty town needs another couple of houses and an dodgy tavern. The village needs some more stores, houses and a hospital. And the docks needs an exotic market and some more housing. But it's getting there... Kind of!
So, turns out I told a small fib back in August when I said Myrthspire lot tours were coming!
Like many Simmers, life got very busy and overwhelming.
One of my adored cats passed away, my beautiful Grandmother passed away just shy of her 100th birthday, I interviewed for a new job (and smashed my car on the way to the interview, but I did get the job, yay?!), I finished a Diploma, and I supported my sister through a messy break up. Then November came, and I jetted off for a 24-night stay in Japan, which was just the break and reset my body and mind needed.
Since arriving back home, the TS2 bug has bitten, and I've been in Myrthspire. The town is pretty much completed in terms of lots, with only one left to build outside the town walls. Many of the lots are just shells at the moment, but I have started moving in some Sims and have been decorating the lots that are occupied.
Unfortunately, even Linux was struggling to cope with this 'hood, and I was drowning in pink soup. I have lowered my lot imposters back to classic (and don't hate it like I thought I would!), and have deforested the 'hood a bit. It is now much more stable, and I've not had any pink or crashing, even when loading in to many lots or having neighbours on and lot view set to large.
I am now back to work, but I do promise that lot tours are coming, but maybe not until the new year. I have been toying with the idea of setting up a side blog for Tamryth, and thinking about lore and 'how I play' posts.
I am also now remembering how time intensive Sim creation is, even with pre-made or downloaded Sims. (Especially when individually calculating their aspiration, ideal family size and risky woohoo odds!). I might have also developed an entire 252 year calendar so I could figure out significant dates and dates of birth for the Sims.
Anyway.... I am here and I am enjoying pottering around in my little virtual world. More pics will be coming soon!
Thank you for all the lovely comments about Myrthspire. This neighborhood has been a labour of love for 2 years, and not only am I really enjoying building it, I am loving how it is turning out.
I will start posting some lot tours soon. Life is very busy at the moment and I have no where near enough time to play the game. If someone would just offer to pay me to stay at home with my cats and play TS2, I would be so happy!
