Question: External Hard Drive & Sims 3

So, what would be the best option for playing the sims3 on a external hard drive and how would I go about to do so?

1) Totally uninstall TS3 and reinstall on the Hard Drive.

> What is the best way to back up my sims 3 folder so my saves and content aren’t lost or corrupted?. 

> How would I go about installing it on my external hard drive using Origin?

2) Or... Copying it using Admin Command ( as seen in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RO4qMi_SyJI )

- This is more scary option of the two for me. I really don’t want to f-up my computer or programs lol
