Surprise!
Yes, you’re seeing right, we are pregnant AGAIN! And it really was a surprise. It’s also quite funny because in my mom tag post, that I put up in may I said we were done having babies and that we definitely weren’t planning on having anymore. I feel a bit embarrassed, seeing as when I posted that I was already pregnant and had absolutely no idea. You’d think after being seven times previously, I’d recognise a pregnancy early on but no. Not this time. We found out particularly late. You see we didn’t find out until was almost 22 weeks.
I’d just had twins so I was already tired, was breastfeeding so my boobs were sore and I obviously hadn’t lost my baby weight. I didn’t get any morning sickness either. I found out when I had an x-ray after tripping and hurting my wrist. I had to take a pregnancy test a precaution and it came back positive. I was shocked to say the least, in fact I almost passed out from the shock. When I told Sean that night he thought I was joking. But when he realised I was serious the colour drained from his face.
It wasn’t until two weeks later I had my first scan, the dating scan. By this point, my stomach had definitely expanded. She asked when I’d had my last period and honestly I don’t remember as I’d hadn’t had one since I’d had the twins. After pregnancy periods can take up to 6 months to return. Anyway, this meant it was harder to work out when I’d conceived. So she did the scan and studied the screen before smiling at me and turning the screen around. “Would you like to know hour far along you are?” I nodded. “You’re about 22 weeks.” I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. “22 Weeks?!!!! are you sure” “Definitely” she smiled.
That was a real shock! My due date is November 28th. So not too long to go!
