*Deep Sigh*

So I’m having the worse luck with some store items. Couldn’t get the massage tables to work, and now I’m getting this glitch when I try to use the poker table (the same glitch happens if I use @anitmb’s Deck of Cards instead).

Now with the massage tables I’ve used them before and found they work much better on a home lot than a community one, but this was my first time trying to use the poker tables. I have no idea if this is yet another thing that just doesn’t work well period, doesn’t work well or community lots, or what. I’ve swapped chairs to make sure it’s not the chairs. I’ve reset the lot. I’ve switched to Ani’s mod trying it out with two different tables and multiple different chairs. I’ve checked the Hobart lot to make sure the underground spawners have all been removed... 

I don’t know what’s wrong with this. I really wanted to use them because of the group social interactions, but it’s looking like I’m going to be replacing it with another dance floor, or by bringing the mechanical bull inside and upstairs.

Why am I like this!

So I was totally going to enter live mode in Isla Paradiso.

I know anyone who has been following this unnecessary anxiety saga is thinking:

Anyways, I was waiting for the game to load up, thinking about what exactly I would have Conquer and Neji do on their first day of vacation, and then I remembered that I didn’t make the open air market. I only have it and one other restaurant and then I’m pretty much done (though as I’m writing this, I’m thinking of adding a skating ring to the Ruins...). But I go, that’s cool, I can just wait to make the market when I need to use it, like I plan to do for the restaurant, but then I remembered something else. 

I set up Cruzita’s so that it would sale everything but fresh fruits and vegetables because they were my sole reason for wanting an open air market in the first place, because tropical Islands are synonymous with fruit stalls in my mind. And in addition to having that mod where you can’t buy from the fridge I have the mod that requires ingredients for cooking stuff.

So I spent part of yesterday setting up the market, because, once again, Conquer has no food in his fridge, and needs to go shopping to get that. I could totally have him eat in one of the eateries, but I honestly don’t expect those to run well until like day 2 or 3 (and let’s be honest, it’s the sims, so even then....).

Anywho, sometime during that construction I took shots of the NPC staff I already made over, and figured I’d share those shots now that Farming Town Riverview is officially over and I’ve got an empty slot. So the first shot from those pictures is coming up next. Hope you all are having a good week.

Thoughts while building

I really wish the tracks for the tractor that came with grandpa’s grove were recolorable, and that there were more sizes, or directional variations, or that they could be overlayed (spell check says this is not a word, but spell check ain’t the boss of me) and still work properly. 

I spent a couple days searching for terrain paint that matches the track, and then spent two days situating the tracks, and honestly I’m not as happy as I would like to be with the lay out.

Overall I wish there were more recolors or custom versions of a lot of the store items. Like I’d love a more modern chicken coop, and while I use @danjaley​’s Functional Hen whenever the store version isn’t doing it for me, I like having the kids play with the chicks and feed the birds. Actually some free chickens like @danjaley​‘s liberated cows (thanks for all the great CC, by the way), would be awesome. 

Don’t have any idea how the egg gathering part would be work, though....

I really wish I was blessed with the patience and talent to mod, but alas, even the painting recolors were a challenge.

On another note, after I found a lot for my community college and decided to build part of it from scratch because the one’s from My Sims Realty sunk into the lot, I found out about this cheat while trying to find the terrain paint (completely unrelated from my search google WTF!) from Crinrict’s (I can’t stop referring to them as Crinket and I don’t know why) site. It apparently helps you lift or lower lots you place from other locations/neighborhoods when they make the ground on the new location funky.

Haven’t tried it to see if it works yet, but it’s a good thing to know.

The family photo was the first one I made.

As you can see, when you get closer doesn’t look so hot :(

But this picture of my self sim with her parasol, which was the second thing I made, looks pretty good

So I made this series of landscape pictures today

I think this one would actually look better in a more modern frame.

Anyways, I am thinking of sharing the Parasol and Landscape one.

This might be silly...

This has been bothering me for weeks, but why are there no rabbits in the game? Are there rabbits in any version of The Sims? Is there a rule or joke I missed as to why this is not a thing?

Also, not that any of you can answer this, how have I played this game for so long and not asked this question?

Today

I finally sat down and learned how to make my own custom pictures/paintings for the game!

I am bad at lighting, and photo editing, so I am going to stick to the screenshots I took that look like paintings for now. The Parasol picture (second one in that linked post) came out much better than my family portrait (which is my simblr’s current header).

When I go back in the game I will get pictures of the finished products to share here.

Game Stuff

So those new meds sucked and I’m off them. Not sure if I want to try out something else just yet, or if I should use the energy I have to focus on finding a new place.

Yes. That’s right. I still haven’t moved. 

It’s hard to do that when you have both a social anxiety disorder and agoraphobia.

Anyways, I still haven’t been in the game, but realized it’s partially because I feel myself being pulled to that “must make content” trap again. 

I think it’s because I just wrapped up Resistance so I felt both panicked and at a loss for what to do next. I also, for whatever reason, wasn’t really ready to start sharing the new Farming Town (which might need a new name) images although I did post the first of those Tuesday.

So after this week the content schedule will change. There will be three days of old posts on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, and then two days of new stuff Wednesday and Friday. There’s also the possibility I might take a posting break, but I haven’t made my mind up about that just yet.
