The Games We Play: A TS4 Legacy by @Cyazurai/sappychan
Have you ever really given much thought to the fact that there are hundreds of genres and subgenres of just about every medium out there? Movies, books, video games, music, etc. Whatever it is, there are so many different types it’s almost overwhelming.
Well, I have. I’ve thought about this extensively. And about how to incorporate it into TS4 - specifically, a legacy. I’ve also written a CAS challenge based on a similar concept, but it, frankly, doesn’t translate as well into a CAS challenge as it does into a legacy challenge. So, I finally worked up the mental power to put together what I’ve been wanting to do forever.
And that’s how we end up here, with The Games We Play Legacy.
The generations are based on 20 different big, popular genres. They are not all required, you can mix and match, play which ones you want - after all, we’re not all necessarily fans of the same genres of games. Along with the 20 generations, there are also 40+ subgenres that you will roll for (potentially more by the time you read this, I’m not going to update this number every time I add a new subgenre), that will add new elements to each generation to make them completely new every time you play. The subgenres are not optional.
If you play this and want to share it, please tag it with #TGWPLegacy or #TheGamesWePlayLegacy so I can find it!
General Rules
First things first, this is a legacy. Legacies are generational. So if you’re looking for something you can complete with one sim, this isn’t the challenge you’re looking for.
Before you make a sim, decide how you want to play the legacy. Stay with the generations the way they are, randomize them, pick and choose, play them in order from your favorite genre to your least favorite, however you want to do it, just pick before you create your sim.
Once you’ve picked your first generation, spin the wheel for your subgenre(s). You will do this for every generation, and you might get the same subgenre multiple generations in a row. You can either choose to reroll a repeat subgenre, or keep it. It’s your choice if you want to repeat things you’ve done before.
Each generation is based on a big, popular genre, and has a general outline, with a goal and things to complete. The subgenres will add additional requirements for each generation to complete, that will make each playthrough of the challenge completely different.
Everything in each generation must be completed in order to move on to the next generation; subgenre goals included.
Each generation also has a different branch of that specific genre to choose between; for example, Survival will have things like Winter Survival, or Zombie survival.
Optional: Name every generation after character(s) you like from that genre! For example: Ryley for survival (Subnautica), Abigail for farming sim (Stardew Valley), etc. It adds a bit of extra fun to have a name theme.
Complete all of the generations’ main goals, and subgenre goals, before you move on to the next generation. If your sim dies before they finish their requirements, feel free to either move on to the next generation, resurrect your sim as a playable ghost to finish, or finish the goals as their spouse. However you want to do it.
No cheats, preferably!
You can play on whichever age span you prefer, but I recommend normal or some MCCC altered version of normal.
This challenge is designed for those with all packs. Including packs I don’t own, myself. Please feel free to change up the generations however you need to to fit with the packs you don’t own.
If you play with custom aspirations, and have one you think will fit a certain generation better than what I have listed, feel free to substitute it!
Before your founder/current heir has children, roll your subgenre(s) for the next generation to see if there will be specific requirements for who is eligible for heir. This will be something you need to pay attention to.
Some generations will involve occults, aliens, or supernatural elements. If you want realism, feel free not to include these generations or subgenres.
I will probably keep continually updating this challenge as new packs come out, and as I test the challenge and see what works and what doesn’t. Ya know?

Greetings and salutations, simmers! If you are here, you either just enjoy an interesting legacy challenge (boy I hope this one is actually interesting to people other than me), or you know Final Fantasy XIV, OR a mixture of both. I’m the third category myself, obviously, otherwise I never would have made this.
I made this back in November of 2020, right around the time I started actually posting on Tumblr. I was really into Not So Berry and Berry Pastel Rainbowcy, and wanted to create something similar, and I was obsessed with FFXIV: Shadowbringers at the time (still am, COUGH), so it was only a natural conclusion for me. I actually made the TS3 version first, because I knew more about that game at the time, but I created this version because I wanted to be able to play it in either game. And now, I haven’t updated the TS3 version in a long while… oops. It will be updated eventually.
This one is still under construction, but all of the current generations have been written. I am not 100% happy with them, but I'm finally happy enough that I want to officially release this.
If you want to skip reading it here, and read it on the Google Document, you can do that: HERE.
@myst-sims is amazing, and has created a fantastic spreadsheet for this challenge! It is located: HERE.
If you have any suggestions or anything else you want to say related to the challenge, feel free to send me a message.
If you want to continue reading the rules on here, they are located below!
Important Notes -
You do NOT need to know anything about Final Fantasy XIV!! These are inspired by that game, that’s it! The sims aren’t inspired by specific characters - just the storyline/quests of each job, the characterization of the job, and the abilities (and maybe slightly based on the personalities of some of the NPCs).
I included colors, but they don’t need to be berry or banilla, you can play it vanilla if you don’t like colorful hair, eyes, and/or skin. But maybe instead, just for fun, add those colors into your home and/or clothes, just as a nod to the color scheme.
Generations will be added as FFXIV releases expansions. Dawntrail, the most recent expansion, just came out and added the jobs Pictomancer and Viper. Later, it will also be adding Beastmaster, which I know very little about. And in the future, there will likely be even more jobs added.
Generations can be played in any order you wish, but I did write little blurbs for each that connect into the next.
You don’t need to play all the generations - you can just stick to the ones you want to do.
For an extra bit of fun, if you don’t want to do all of the generations, just pick the ones you want to play and randomize the order you do them in!
There are generations that include occults and supernatural elements. If you don’t want to play with that, you can either skip those generations or figure out something else for them.
This challenge isn’t very base game friendly.
The tags for this challenge are #soulcrystallegacy and #TS4SCL, if you play this be sure to tag your posts with one of these so I can follow along!
Rules -
Cheats only when necessary.
Sometimes, cheats are necessary. I know that, you know that. And I’ll leave it up to you what you deem necessary. (Aging children up can be "necessary" if you think it is.)
Mods and CC encouraged, but not necessary.
I have given you 1-2 traits for each generation, and you must randomize to fill in the remaining traits. You may randomize up to 3 times, but whatever you get on the 3rd try is what you get.
Roll an optional “side job” for each generation. Each of these side jobs has something different that you can do, but you don’t have to do. If you want to, you can assign the side job to your heir’s significant other, so they have something to do as well. It’s just here for a bit of extra fun.
Roll for the amount of children each generation has, UNLESS the exact number is already listed in the generation. Repeat numbers are alright (so if you get 2 children twice in a row, you don’t have to reroll).
You may play with any age span you want. This includes age spans altered by MCCC or other mods. (It’s fun to make the age span realistic, after all.)
I have designed this specifically for people who have all/most packs, but if you don’t have a pack, feel free to skip something or substitute it with something else. This is strictly for fun. If an entire generation is something you can’t do, you can substitute or create your own goals, or just skip the whole generation.
This legacy will always be getting small updates here and there. I haven’t played through it to test it out yet, so I don’t know how interesting or uninteresting each generation might be, let alone how doable they are. Plus, Final Fantasy XIV is frequently getting updated, and soon another job called Beastmaster will be added, and when it is, I will be adding a 23rd generation of this legacy. Whenever a new job gets added to FFXIV, I will be adding more generations. That is why the current final generation, Pictomancer, doesn’t sound like a final generation.
Starting out -
You’ll be starting out with a young adult, human sim of your making. They can be any gender identity or sexual orientation, and you may start with any animals you want. (Though the first generation has a specific animal you must own.)
When marrying/having babies, no one is off limits except for the exceptions listed in each generation. But they can be anyone; original game townie (i.e. Akira Kibo), randomly generated game townie (i.e. random blond Japanese person), or a sim created by you or anyone else. You can even have a little bachelor(ette) challenge to pick them if you’re so inclined!
Use whatever cheats you want to to place your sim. This is for fun. I think that making it more difficult is more fun, but not everyone feels that way, and I know that.
Unless something is stated as optional, it is mandatory. You must finish it to move on to the next generation. However, accidental death doesn’t mean you fail - only old age death. If your founder/heir dies accidentally, even if it’s your own fault, you have a free pass to move on to the next generation if they’ve already been born. Or, you may play them as a playable ghost to finish their generation, and do with them whatever you please once it’s time to move on.
You may live anywhere, unless stated otherwise in the generation requirements.
Honestly, just have fun. If I don’t specify something, you can feel free to fill in the blank spaces yourself. And you can ignore anything you don’t like. I’m just setting up rules for those who like them - like me.
Side Jobs
Side jobs are based on the crafting and gathering classes of FFXIV, and similarly to those classes, these are completely optional. If you decide you want to include a side job for your current generation (or two, or three, it’s really up to you), roll one of the numbers below to pick what “class” your founder/heir has picked up on the side.
Some of the side jobs are repeats of things that heirs are required to do later, and if the side job you roll is already a requirement you currently have, you can either re-roll or just count it towards both the side job and the requirement.
Botanist: Complete the plant collection (from all packs you own); decorate your home with as many plants as you can fit, and have a living plant in every single room. If you have the blooming rooms kit, it’s your best friend. Optional: Max flower arranging.
Miner: Complete the crystal and metal collections; have a rock garden and a crystal tree.
Fisher: Max fishing, and/or complete the fish collection; have a pond on your lot filled with the fish you’ve caught. Mount your favorite fish above your bed.
Carpenter: Max handiness; make every woodwork object (sculpture and furniture) and decorate your house with them. I highly recommend getting a More Woodworks mod for this side job so you can build all pieces of furniture.
Blacksmith: Complete the Ancient Omiscan artifacts collection; decorate your home with ancient weaponry and your collection. Optional: get the blacksmithing mod by JaneSimsten instead of doing the collection, max the skill, and decorate your home with the items you make.
Armorer: Max the elemental collection; have a lot of metallic, chrome details in your home (have fun with it - there is no limit to the amount of metal except the cc you can download and your imagination). Optional: wear a lot of chrome in your outfits.
Goldsmith: Complete the gemology skill, have a charged, Spire-shaped carved gemstone placed in at least 2 rooms in your house, and cycle through at least 3 pieces of charged jewelry. (The spire-shaped gemstone description is a reference to FFXIV, so it had to be done.)
Leatherworker: Complete the feathers collection; decorate your home with a lot of natural elements and leather furniture.
Weaver: Max the entrepreneur skill by buying thrift outfits and selling them on Trendi; must have 5 outfits for each category. Optional: max knitting as well.
Alchemist: Max the mixology skill and learn all of the occult drinks; have an entire room in your house dedicated to mixology.
Culinarian: Max the cooking skill; own all of the kitchen appliances (from all the packs you own), and the most expensive version of each. Optional: create a family recipe based on all of your children.
------------
Generation 1: White Mage (white)
You have always had a way with nature and people. Your caring heart knows no bounds, and you dedicate your life to caring for people as a naturopath, completely steeping yourself in a natural way of life; as such, you are surprised one day when you find a unicorn in your garden. Perhaps it was attracted by your beautiful, kind soul, but whatever the reason, it is here now and forever more. Because you spend most of your time working, you meet the love of your life at your job, late in life. They are a kindred spirit, and you have a beautiful life together.

Have and frequently use the Nature Press
------------
Generation 2: Red Mage (dark pink)
You’ve always respected your parent’s profession, and planned to become a naturopath, just like them. After all, you were never very sure what you wanted to do with your life anyway. That is, until you meet someone who inspires you to find what it is you’d rather do with your life. Instead of going to college or hopping right into a career, you decide to go traveling with your significant other. That’s where you discover your true passion: traveling.
Heir career: Unemployed (make money however you can)
Aspiration: Choose a destination-specific one (either from the location category, or one that requires you to frequently visit one destination, but not one from Jungle Adventure)
Trait: Loves Outdoors
Children: 4 (1 biological, 3 adopted)
Heir must have and complete at least one of the destination specific aspirations that doesn’t come from Jungle Adventure
Meet your significant other early in life (as a teen or YA)

May sell items gained on adventures, or keep them for a home museum

Explore every available rabbit hole adventure spot at least once (Cave of Sulani, scuba diving in Sulani, Chestnut Ridge Dreadhorse Caverns, Moonwood Mill tunnels, Tomarang Beard Beard cave and Tiger Sanctuary, and Ravenwood’s crypts and Golden Oldies house - you do not need to complete Alice’s Sorrow in this generation)
Spouse must also write and publish 5 non-fiction books about the heir’s adventures
Spouse must max writing skill
Get married on a vacation (if you don’t want to battle a whole wedding, get married at the courthouse in Tartosa)
Must have 1 pregnancy (or science baby), and adopt 3 more children “from” 3 of your sim’s vacation destinations (Selvadorada, Mt. Komorebi, Strangerville, Sulani, etc)
Give the adopted children names that fit the places they’re supposed to be from.
Any of these children are eligible for heirship.
Purchase a vacation home that becomes your forever home - move to one of your favorite vacation destinations once you’re an adult
------------
Generation 3: Gunbreaker (mustard yellow/gold)
You have grown up with a globe trotting family, and you always loved it, but you’re bored of the usual sort of traveling. You want something.. more. Something bigger. Your dream is to go to space, to new heights. You’ll be an astronaut and see different planets. Because of your dedication to your job, you’re resigned to never having a romance like your parents or grandparents. But then you meet the love of your life: an alien.
Build a rocket, max upgrade it, and explore space with it at least once a week
Go to Sixam using the rocket at least four times
Meet your alien spouse either at aliens night at a local bar, or on Sixam
Must max athletic, rocket science, and romance skills

Complete the aliens and geodes collections
Must marry your alien love (optional: elope on Sixam if there’s no one you want to invite to the wedding)
Conceive your firstborn in the rocket (unless this isn’t an option for any reason)
Have fun decorating your home in an alien, futuristic way - neon lights, chrome, etc
Your spouse has a full garden full of every alien plant to make them feel less homesick
Your spouse also has brought an alien pet from their home on Sixam (what type of animal is up to you, have fun making them look alien)
Your spouse knows you’ll defend them, so they never wear their human disguise
Go on a date with your spouse every time you both have a day off
------------
Generation 4: Astrologian (orange)
As a child of an astronaut and an alien, you’ve always been fascinated by the stars… but not the same way as your parents. Your interests are more… astrological. The zodiac fascinates you, especially how it directly relates to a person’s destiny and personality, and so you get a career in writing people’s horoscopes in the local newspaper. No one working with you seems to believe you actually know what you’re talking about, even when you try to tell them you actually sometimes can genuinely see potential future outcomes. However, at least one person seems to appreciate your efforts, and starts writing to you about your horoscopes. Through these letters, you grow closer, but that’s when you foresee a potential disastrous outcome for your penpal. Will you make it in time to save them?
Must get the reward “Lady Ravendancer Goth’s mystical Tarot Deck”
Befriend every member of the Order of Lenore and complete their Favors
Read tarot cards for money for everyone you meet
Write every type of book you can, including the emotion books (Book of Life is optional)

Spouse must have the Chased by Death trait, and do something dangerous that potentially gets them killed
Optional: Spouse actually dies prematurely, before you get married, and becomes a playable ghost.
If you choose to kill the spouse, you may either live with them as a playable ghost, or find a way to make them a living, human sim once more (such as ambrosia)
Optional: Marry only after the spouse becomes a playable ghost, or after they have become a regular sim once again
------------
Generation 5: Black Mage (dark purple)
You’ve always been fascinated by darkness and the occult, and your parents are pretty sure it’s because of their stories of your parent’s near death experience/untimely demise. Because of this, you spent most of your life researching the occult, and ignoring everyone who called you a freak in school (which was basically everyone). Doesn’t help that you’re the grandchild of an alien (and possibly the child of a ghost). You ignore one person in particular, who has called you weird practically from the first day of kindergarten. Even if they’re actually kind of sweet to anyone who isn’t you, and really attractive, doesn’t mean anything. You’re going to prove to them you’re not weird.
Heir career: Paranormal Investigator
Aspiration: One of the occult related aspirations (except Spellcraft and Sorcery or Ghost Historian)
Trait: Gloomy & Macabre
Children: Roll 1-6

Have a baby with Guidry (cheats and mods are encouraged to accomplish this)
Must complete the Alice’s Sorrow quest in Mourningvale
Must become a vampire or werewolf sometime before they hit adulthood
Once the heir is an occult, they must complete their occult skill tree in whichever way you see fit
Must meet partner in school as a child, and experience a hate to love relationship with said partner
May get married to said partner or not
May have children either before or after the heir becomes an occult
------------
Generation 6: Monk (light yellow)
Your parents were deeply in love, and you know they were. But they didn’t always get along, and no matter how much you told yourself it wasn’t your fault, it somehow always felt like it was. To distract yourself and calm your stress, you try all sorts of things before discovering the treadmill. Exercise was exactly what you needed, and you can lose all your stress when you’re in the middle of a good workout. But then you discover something even better: extreme sports. Snowboarding, mountain climbing! All in Mt. Komorebi. So you book a trip there, and when learning to snowboard, you meet your soulmate, and bond over your mutual love for physical activity.
Heir and spouse career: Athlete
Aspiration: Extreme Sports Enthusiast
Trait: Adventurous
Children: Roll 1-3
Must have and complete the aspiration Extreme Sports Enthusiast
Heir and spouse must both master mountain climbing, skiing and snowboarding skills
Heir and spouse do not have to top athletic career, but they do have to do separate branches if they get there

Must get married at the summit of Mt. Komorebi (even if it’s late in life)
Complete the Simmi collection
Only have 1-3 children because you’re too busy doing to actively parent
Never discipline your child(ren)
Be an absentee parent
Once your child(ren) reach teen, mentor each of them in fitness at least once
Adopt a pet for each of your children since neither of you are actively there for them
------------
Generation 7: Blue Mage (electric blue)
You’ve never been that interested in humans. They’re okay, sure, but you prefer to spend time alone, or better yet: with animals. Sometimes you crave some human interaction, but mostly? You’re fine with just your animals. In fact, you never saw the big deal of getting married and all that jazz because it’s just too much to deal with. But you still want to have children, because you love taking care of things, and you want to continue your family’s name. So you do what you have to to continue your family line.
Heir career: Veterinarian
Aspiration: Friend of the Animals
Trait(s): Unflirty & any of the animal loving traits
Children: 1 (unless it’s twins or triplets)

Heir must also not have any relationships above friend level - if they get to good friends, ignore them long enough for the relationship to decay
Must own at least 1 of every type of animal (this includes any pet from My First Pet Stuff [only one necessary], chickens, cows, llamas, horses, mini sheep and mini goats, an aquarium full of fish, and a crow)
Must have the lot traits Cat Hangout and Dog Hangout (Optional: Also Breeding Ground, but only if you want your pets to have lots of babies.)
Must max the pet training and veterinarian skills
Must train at least 1 bad habit out of a cat and a dog
Must teach a dog at least 3 tricks
Must try to befriend any foxes, bunnies, and birds they meet
Must have only a single science baby (if you don’t have Growing Together, find another way to have a pregnancy). Other parent can be anyone you wish.
If you have Lumpinou’s RPO Module 8, Artificial Insemination & Surrogacy, you may use this instead of the science baby function.
Because your child is not your priority, you are a deadbeat parent - don’t actively teach your child any skills, just keep them alive; you’re worse than your own parents were
------------
Generation 8: Dragoon (dark blue)
All you ever knew in your life growing up was a parent that cared more about their animals than you. As such, you had a tendency to act up. Not like you wanted to make your parent’s life harder, but you just wanted some attention! You were a little rebel, and liked to do dangerous things. In fact, that’s probably why you decided to become a secret agent. That way, you could keep doing the dangerous things you loved, and maybe it’d worry your parent. One day, while taking a much needed break, you meet someone who calms your inner fire.
Heir career: Secret Agent (Villain Branch)
Aspiration: Live Fast & Bodybuilder
Trait(s): Self-Assured & Disruptive
Children: At least 6 (sorry!)

Spouse must max painting and wellness skill
Spouse must have Family-Oriented trait
As a teen, must complete the Live Fast aspiration
If you have Ilkavelle’s teen aspirations, you may do the Teenage Rebellion aspiration instead of Live Fast
Must complete the Bodybuilder aspiration
Must max mischief, athletic and logic skills
Frequently cause other sims to become imbalanced
Bind a voodoo doll to your parent
As a child and teen, constantly argue with your parent, and sneak out of the house at every opportunity (have the window that functions as a door in your bedroom)
Get at least one negative character value trait
Marry/date a sim some time after you meet them at the Humor and Hijinks festival
Have at least 6 kids… your spouse loves kids and you like woohoo, what can you say?
Try to keep your infants and toddlers from getting the unhappy infant/unhappy toddler traits
All of your children must age up with at least 1 positive character trait
------------
Generation 9: Machinist (cyan/turquoise)
One of many, you had to find your own way to stand out. So you decided to follow in the footsteps of your smarter ancestors, but even better: you wish to create life! Not in a creepy Frankenstein way, though. You want to build robots. Your childhood best friend thinks you’re crazy for wanting to build robots - especially when you say you want to build one that’s more sentient. Despite that, they encourage you, and photograph all your efforts.
When they reach the right age, must go to university and earn a degree in physics
Must max the robotics and handiness skills
Spouse must max the photography skill
Move to the university campus while going to school (in one of the houses if you don’t want to deal with dorms) with your childhood friend, who must earn a degree in fine arts
Must always have at least 2 Servos in the household
Make every type of bot that you can make with the robotics station
Walls in the house must be covered with photographs of the family (robots included) taken by the spouse
Spouse must be a Freelance photographer
Build a photography studio onto your home, that is filled with everything a photographer might need, with a little wellness corner
Must upgrade both of your household Servos to max (with sentience)
Gift at least one bot to each of your siblings
Keep in contact with all of your siblings, and when you reach adult, have a family reunion at a place that is important to all of you
Fill your home with all of the latest technology, and max upgrade all of the electronics (don’t worry about the plumbing)
Marry your childhood best friend
------------
Generation 10: Warrior (red)
Growing up with a family that was half human half robot, and witnessing the injustices that said robots faced, you were filled with indignation. You need to fix what’s wrong with the world, and there is plenty wrong with the world. Your robotic siblings deserve as many rights as any other sentient being. So you get into politics. Your conviction makes you a force to be reckoned with, but anyone that knows you can see you need to relax. On your days off, you go out to nightclubs to unwind with a drink or ten and a lot of dancing. A couple of times you relaxed just a bit too much, and ended up in way over your head, and you have to work harder to scrub your reputation clean.
Must have the Fabulously Wealthy aspiration, but you do not need to complete it
Must max the politician career
Must max the charisma and dancing skills
You may do your Soul’s Journey/Bucket List or not
Must get the reward trait “Connections”
Move into a penthouse in San Myshuno
Hold a protest for your cause at every festival in San Myshuno at least once, and don’t participate in the festivities, you’re only there to bring attention to your cause
Before marrying or maxing the career, must have two babies with two different sims as a result of drunken indiscretions (these babies must live with your heir)
Neglect your children in favor of your career, but don’t let them get taken by social services - the nannies are your children’s constant companions
If you ever discipline your children, always do it strictly, or by yelling - you have very little patience for their misbehavior
Must gain the workaholic lifestyle
Ignore the burnout when you get it - if you push past it it’ll just go away, right?
Complete the poster collection because you’re trying to clean up the city… and they’re just kinda cool
Go out to a nightclub every Friday night and get at least 2 drinks
Must learn what your sim’s favorite drink is and drink it at least once (if it’s the pet drink… you don’t have to)
May get married or not
To keep your reputation clean, donate to charity every time you get the option, and host a charity benefit event if you ever get a pristine reputation
------------
Generation 11: Dark Knight (dark red and burnt orange)
You and your sibling have always been extremely close. Partners in crime, one might say. Little terrors, others might say. One of you is the evil mastermind, and the other is the thief and hacker. From a young age you knew the world was out to get you both and the only ones you have is each other. So you join an organization that promises to grant your wishes - they might be the criminal underworld, but hey, they pay well. One of you wishes to rise to the top, and the other wishes to be their right hand person. Somehow, you both meet someone who makes you feel that the world might not be as terrible as you thought.

------------
Generation 12: Paladin (light blue)
Your parent wanted you to follow in their footsteps, but you always had your grandparent’s sense of justice and law. You hated how your parent and aunt/uncle were such prominent names in the criminal underworld, and even though you love them, you refuse to go down that same dark path. In fact, the first chance you get, you go to the police academy. You’re going to put away people like your parent and uncle/aunt. Of course, that means they disown you, but you’re not going to let that get you down. Especially when you’re so good at what you do. Well, mostly - when you first meet your partner, you have some trouble concentrating on your actual job.

------------
Generation 13: Bard (yellow green)
You had a wonderful, loving family, and wanted for nothing. You weren’t spoiled, exactly, since your parents did believe in discipline, but other than that? They bought you and your sibling(s) almost anything you wanted. As a child, everything you ever wanted was music. Practically from the time you could walk you were bobbing to music, rather than playing with toys. As such, you know what you want with your life - to spend your life immersed in music! Of course, not everyone starts off as a well-known music artist, and you start the way most musicians do: busking on the busy city streets. Plus, that’s a good way to meet people, isn’t it?
Heir career: Entertainer (musician)

Children can be from multiple partners if you wish
Have one room in the house be your dedicated “studio” - fill it with every musical object you have
------------
Generation 14: Scholar (indigo)
Working doesn’t sound like fun to you, honestly, and never did. Your parent never took life very seriously, and was always obsessed with music. Your interests were more… scholarly. In fact, the moment you were old enough, you had your nose buried in a book. History, logic, Simlish, science, it didn’t matter to you, you wanted to study it! Since your parent was a famous musician, you have a rather hefty inheritance, so you decide you’d rather just be a career student. Get as many degrees as possible. Not to mention, going to other places to learn more about their histories - and that’s when you meet them. The fairies. You just went to Innisgreen to read about the history of Everdew, you didn’t anticipate falling in love with a way of life.

Fall in love with either the Fairy Court Liaison, or the Mystical Fairy (if they are no longer the original townies in your game, you can find out who they are by reading the Fable Board)
Hold a fairy dance party at least once a week - you skipped the partying side of campus life, so you’re excited to finally get to experience it now
Marry or not - you’re a fairy, you can do what you want!
------------
Generation 15: Ninja (black)
An accident in your youth took your voice. Your parents were horrified, but did everything they could to take care of you. They didn’t have the money to get you any special surgeries, but they did everything they could to make your life easier. Despite that, your lack of voice always made you feel invisible - especially at school. It was better than the alternative, though. You were different, and being different was usually considered a bad thing. But you still wanted to speak - to be heard, for people to understand you. That’s when you discover your love for food. It was always a constant comfort for you, but the creation of it is even better. You can express yourself through food, and still work from behind the scenes. When a food critic writes an honest review of your food, seeing through to the heart underneath, you know you have to meet this person.

Go out to eat at a restaurant at least twice a week (you have to scope out the competition after all)

Create at least 5 different family recipes, each with a different secret ingredient and meal effect, and pass them down to your children
Make the ambrosia recipe at least once in your lifetime

------------
Generation 16: Summoner (green)
Throughout your childhood, your parents constantly took you and your siblings to restaurants. You loved watching your parents doing their jobs, and loved the family dinner outings. One night while you’re all out and about at a restaurant, you witness something marvelous: real magic. Someone casts a spell, and you immediately knew that was what your life lacked. You start learning what you can about spellcaster magic, and trying to find the magical realm, to a point that your friends begin to get tired of even hearing the word magic. At least your closest friends still care. In fact, they are with you when you finally find your way into the realm of magic, and beg a sage to change you. They’re even there for your first duel with a fellow young spellcaster.

Adopt a pet and bind that pet as a familiar to your spouse
Find every type of magical familiar and bind them all, and always have one summoned
Have both heir and spouse drink the Potion of Immortality (if neighborhood stories kills one of them off, that’s fine, but make them immortal while you play them)
Give each of your children a magical object for their teen birthday (either a familiar, broom, or wand)
Accept every offer to duel that you get
Once you have unlocked a few potion recipes, open up a small business in Glimmerbrook, for all things magical. Sell the items you get and make as a spellcaster, and include whatever other small business activities you wish.
------------
Generation 17: Samurai (tan)
You’re a tough cookie. Everyone knows it. Honestly, from a young age everyone expected you to be like your criminal ancestors - but you knew better. Your sense of justice is far too big to allow injustice in the world, to the point where you had no qualms about physically beating anyone who hurt someone important to you. That’s why your parents told you you needed to go into the military, to straighten up your attitude, and that way you can still uphold justice in your own way. It’s way more stressful than you ever expected, so you take up horse riding and training, and when you have the chance you enter equestrian competitions. And that’s where you meet a sweet lawyer who clashes with your personality and irritates you, but you can’t keep them out of your mind.

Optional: Quit the military career once you top it, and make money selling championship horses you’ve bred.
Heir and spouse have conflicting parenting techniques; the heir is strict and believes in punishment, and the spouse is calm and prefers to talk it out.
------------
Generation 18: Dancer (light pink)
Growing up, you thought your family was the greatest. Your parents fought frequently, sure, but they always made up and were closer for their issues. The fame that your military parent gained by winning all those equestrian competitions was always tantalizing to you - everyone knowing your name. Singing your praises. Admiring you. Wanting to be you. Wanting to be WITH you. It was all you ever desired - to be the center of attention. The child is an accident, and as such, you ignore them. If your partner is the one that ends up pregnant, allow them to raise the child until they’re a child. If you end up pregnant, ignore the child as much as you can get away with.
------------
Generation 19: Sage (White and Sky Blue)
Your parent was obsessed with fame and cared little for anything else, but at least they taught you to value yourself, and oh boy do you. You might not be the starlet that screams about the quality of their soy latte, but you’re not far off. Except you’re interested in much more interesting things than fame - fame is fleeting, but health is forever, and you want to the pinnacle of health and happiness. ------------
Generation 20: Reaper (Jet and Lemon)
Growing up in a spa, with parents literally obsessed with their health wasn’t your idea of a good time. Sure, you learned how to take care of yourself, but having to do yoga and exercise everyday, along with homework, left you very little time to explore your real passions. Oldest child may not be the next heir
------------
Generation 21: Viper (Orange and Grey)
Your parentage is something that you’d rather not think about. Both of your parents spent their time focused on death, and that’s not something you’ve ever had any interest in, despite being a Grimborn. So at a young age, you run away to Ciudad Enamorada, and end up hearing about the jungles of Selvadorada. Everything Latin gives you a thrill and makes you feel truly alive! Spicy food your beloved! ------------
Generation 22: Pictomancer (Rainbow)
Everything is beautiful. Your imagination has always run wild, to a point where sometimes your parents wondered if there was something wrong with you. But there never was - you were just… imaginative. From the moment you were old enough to create, you imagined yourself up an Imaginary Friend that was always there for you. They were everything to you, and you knew when your parents told you that your friend wasn’t real that they were wrong. At least your parents encouraged and nourished your artistic soul, and gave you whatever you needed to succeed.
