They made sure both kids—our youngest was one at the time—had books, snacks, toys, whatever they needed to help distract them, which allowed us to stay calm as well,” said Payne. “I think the entire visit from entering and checking in, to getting x-rays, and getting a cast set, took maybe an hour. I’ve never seen an emergency room function so quickly, with so much professionalism, and kindness. I felt like they had been taking care of our family for years, even though they had never met us before.”
