"Do you have any idea what time it is?"
-------- Kati leaned against the door frame, a sigh slipping through her lips before she answered his question. “Of course I know what time it is,” she muttered. She rolled her eyes at the question and hoped that the action was small enough that he would not be able to notice it and call her out. “Be a gentleman, Cooper - invite me in.”
Without waiting for a proper introduction, Kati pushed herself off the door frame that had been holding her support and stumbled into Griffin’s place. She had been there before and was surprised she had been able to find it given the state of intoxication she was in. She wasn’t the type of person who opened up easily, nor would she have showed up to his place uninvited had she been sober. Kati wasn’t meaning to use the fact that she spent the night drinking as an excuse for being unannounced and rude, but she had been in the area and she wasn’t quiet ready to climb into her own bed.
Turning back around to face Griffin, Kati smiled at him before she spoke again. “I was in the neighbourhood,” she started to explain. The next set of words hung on her lips, finding the perfect way to come out without making her vulnerable. He had been nice to her so far, but that didn’t mean she was ready to open up to someone new. It always found a way to bite her in the ass when she did and Kati had learned from that. It was not something she was ever going to do lightly again - no matter how nice someone was. Or pretended to be.
“I wasn’t ready to go home,” she finally said, looking up at Griffin through the tops of her eyelashes. “I thought maybe you’d like some company.”

♜: Shoulder rubs
It was senior year, which meant late nights curled around numerous text books where ever you could find peace these days - the most likely candidate being the library. Granted, the reason for him roaming the rows of books wasn’t one for studying - at least towards his subjects - but purely for entertainment. It was around 9.00pm, the library was certainly closed, and Noah finally settled on “The Great Gatsby” - a favourite of his, of course - it’s a classic. Pulling said book from the clutches of two other Fitzgerald titles, he saw through the small gap he just made in the bookcase the one and only Harper Fairchild, hair swaying as the fast springs in her steps came to a halt as she hurled herself - somehow gracefully - onto a seat at the large table centered in the middle of the library. He pursed his lips for a moment, wondering why on earth she’d be here at this time. Not because of the fact she’s in the library per say, but at the fact that’s she’s here when no one’s supposed to be and how she would possibly risk getting seen breaking the rules by someone, after all she is known for her perfection.
It wasn’t an option anymore for him to simply sit in the middle of a row of books, back against the shelf and settle for the late evening with a great piece of literature. He simply had to make his presence known, so he clutched the book in his right hand and walked towards her. When he reached the table, he placed the book face down on the surface, leaned on the side of the table and angled his physique to face her.
“Hello, stranger.” he whispers, after all they are in the library. “You look stressed, maybe I can help you with that?” he offers. She looks up towards him at this, startled only within the depths of her irises and not on the outside.
“What do you propose.” She whispers back, intrigued and willing to play this out.
Instead of answering her question, he simply leaves his book on the table and goes to stand behind her chair, hands lifting to her shoulders as she turns her head in curiosity and begins to massage her tense muscles.
“This is the second best way to de-stress, I’ve found.” He says quietly into her ear.
“You aren’t wrong there.” She replies, closing her eyelids and momentarily enjoying the feeling of relief mixed with pleasure.
“How about you let me in on why you’re in here at this time… since I’m being so generous.” Noah pry’s. His curiosity getting the better of him.
"Why do you think? To study, I have higher than expected grades to achieve for getting my spot at Yale.” She answers, leaning her head further back into his chest as his hands more to her lower neck.
“Mmm… yes. However, last time I checked, you don’t break rules, darling.” He mutters in her opposite ear, gliding the tip of his nose along the lobe.
“There’s a first time for everything, I guess.” Harper teases.
“Yes, there is.” He replies hoarsely, always one to have the last word.
