“...buh?”

Tank spent a moment getting his eyes to focus as he awoke. It struck him as strange that he’d even fallen asleep in the first place, comfortable though it was to lie there in the grass; he wasn’t one to tire out quite this easily normally... but to be fair, very little about this situation was even remotely close to normal. Maybe something about Stella City was wearing him out more than he realized?

Only then did he notice something resting gently on the back of his neck. A quick glance to one side revealed a long coil of golden hair lying in the grass beside him, which took him no time at all to recognize: Usagi had apparently fallen asleep as well, electing to use him for a pillow as she did so.

His face turning ever so faintly crimson, Tank sat as motionless as possible to avoid disturbing her.

  Eve… wasn’t quite sure what this human was doing. She had approached him with a smile, and a large bundle of organic matter. Flowers, as he’d come to know them in common terms. She said something about ‘perking up such an angry looking guy’, to which red eyes only narrowed slightly in confusion.

  He made no attempts to fight her frail hands twisting and twirling the buds in his messy hair, however. There was something about the look of concentration she wore that was… endearing. Somewhere along the way, he found himself enjoying the exchange.

  “Well?” He perked up as soon as she was done, fingers lifting to gently brush the petals scattered through white hair. “Do I look good?” His grin was a mile wide, proud and confident that this girl did an excellent job of enhancing his looks. “Here,” he began, taking the last flower from her hand and tucking it into one of those little hair-spheres she had. “You get this one. Now we match!”

          The two girls had been glued to each other with a mutual, unspoken agreement. Ever since being pulled off the dance floor and away from the drunken, very animated, man by the twin bunned blonde, Winry had felt indebted to return the favor. Which, coincidentally happened almost immediately after.. by the same dance partner she’d been pulled away from. Their contract had been broken, but since then they’d been standing at the fray of the ball talking about people that walked in.

     “Okay, so they came in late, but they didn’t arrive together?” Her head canted slightly to the left, leaning closer to her new friend. “Do you think they’ll leave together?”

There were all sorts of people there, from all different walks of life it seemed. She couldn’t help but be curious. But even so, she was still a bit shy and awkward when meeting people..though the atmosphere had helped put her at ease a little more than she usually would be in such a situation. It also helped that the music was so catchy. 

But one person immediately caught her eye, in an elegant gown and shining blonde hair. Kaede’s first thought was that she looked like a princess, like a shoujo heroine who overcome unimaginable odds to emerge victorious. 

The brunette honestly couldn’t help but give an audible gasp as she watched the other. “You’re so pretty!” Though as soon as the words left her lips, her shyness returned, embarrassed that she’d said it out loud like that.

More than just a little unsure, Cerise clung to the wall and her drink, two rocks amongst the unpredictable waters she found herself in. Still, the music was upbeat and her foot was tapping along with the beat and everyone seemed to be busy with themselves - perhaps it wouldn’t hurt for her to loosen up just a little? 

With a look more akin to a soldier going off to war, Cerise tossed her drink back and slipped between bodies until she was on the edge of the dance floor. Letting her body adjust to the rhythm, she soon found herself caught up in the music, silently singing along to the words. Cheeks flushed and the biggest grin on her face, she let go and began simply to move - trusting her body not to hit anybody. 

Of course, that was probably a mistake because, as she brought down her right hand, she felt it collide with a softness normally associated with a human. In a flash, she became the unsure wallflower and anxiously waved her hands in front of her as she silently pleaded an apology to her unfortunate victim.
