tsukishima likes to think he’s in control of the things happening around him. that was his whole character, that even if he knew he was at a disadvantage, it wouldn’t matter because he chose for that to happen.
he acknowledged people being stronger than him in ways he lacked at and he didn’t let that bother him because as far as he was concerned, he didn’t really care.
as long as he was grounded enough to make choices for himself, he was satisfied.
but then you came in his mix and completely disrupted the entirety of his lifestyle.
you made him care, made him double take, made him completely entranced by the sole idea of you and he absolutely despised it.
the school day just started and after a long night of pouring rain, the sun still hadn’t cleared up any of the remaining gloom.
the atmosphere felt grey, dull— cold.
tsukishima eyes you from his seat, watching you enter the classroom with a sky blue lacoste dangling by your shoulder, your black shoes matching the innocent white of your socks that reached your calfs.
“you’re staring again,” yamaguchi says, a sly smile adorning his features that only went wider when he sees him flushed.
he huffs, his breath mildly clouding the lens of his glasses, “she’s being annoyingly distracting.”
“if you say so,” his friend laughs and he rolls his eyes at the gesture.
he brings his attention back to the book in his hands, internally shivering at the chilly weather and cursing the teacher for stalling to begin.
“hey, tsukishima, right?”
he looks up and he’s almost certain that the world was playing tricks on him when he saw you standing in front of his seat.
you put up a nervous facade, something he’s obviously not dumb enough to fall for but he gives you a curt nod anyways.
“you’re the best in chem, or so i’ve heard,” you fiddle with the ends of your sleeves, finding it a bit more difficult to finish your sentence when he seems uninterested.
you smile, “would you mind helping me catch up on the lessons?”
tsukishima doesn’t know why or how he found himself agreeing, but something definitely stirred in his stomach when he did.
maybe it was from the light red that dusted your face when he said yes or maybe it was from the fact that he knew damn well that you were the last person in class who needed tutoring.
either way, the idea of his obsession when it came to control disappeared when it’s you in the question and that was enough to leave him fantasizing.
