Unno Suzuyo was struggling. His grades were shit, finals were right around the corner, and his best friend refused to drive him anywhere after their impromptu trip to Miyagi. Not wanting to flunk out of high school in his first year, he found himself scrambling looking for a tutor.

Tsukishima Kei was annoyed. He’d been roped into helping the freak duo study, and was relieved that they’d moved on to bothering Yachi instead. Yet he somehow found himself being pestered again, this time from a student who didn’t even go to his school.

The two start an unlikely, unconventional, and inconvenient friendship, bridging the distance between Miyagi and Tokyo. As much as the moon may look away, the tides cannot resist its pull.

this is a cover i made for my upcoming tsukisuzu fic! i still need to work a lot on the outline lol, but it follows tsukishima and suzu through their online and in person study sessions. im very proud of how this came out, and hope that it sparks interest in both the fic and tsukisuzu in general! i am also working on writing more for them, even making some moodboards (inspired by other blogs), and hope to post something special for valentines! im really excited for it, and i hope you all are as well <3

tsukisuzu's dynamic in 2012 and in 2018!

when the two first meet, it's in may of 2012, and they don't actually start talking properly until june! tsukishima is roped into tutoring suzu, travelling all the way to tokyo from miyagi to do so in person. even in 2018 the two are long distance, with suzu finally moving in with tsukishima once he finishes college :]

🏁 tsukisuzu i think they started pining around the same time! they were both very in denial about their feelings, so it took a while for either to realize lol🏁 tanskei this is embarrassing to admit but i was absolutely first 😭 it didn't take tsukki long to figure that out, and i think once he did his teasing towards me multiplied. if only he understood Why he liked teasing me so much back then...

HAPPY LATE BIRTHFAY SUZU + VALLYTINES TO THE HAPPY COUPLE

love letter — in the early stages of your relationship, who was the first to confess, and how did that go?

MACHINEY 🥹 ohh this one's actually a bit of a spoiler for my tsukisuzu fic, so if no one wants to be spoiled (for a fic i haven't even shared lol) scroll on!!!

i distinctly remember last year on valentine's, i actually wanted to write suzu's confession to tsukki... before realizing that was already a planned scene in the fic. but i see no harm in sharing the general events now!

suzu is the one to confess, albeit indirectly. he isn't able to surprise tsukishima in person, so instead, a week before valentine's he meets up with yamaguchi to have him play messenger. knowing suzu, the chocolates were probably store bought LOL, but he made an effort to find some strawberry cream filled ones. maybe threw in some chocolate covered strawberries that his mom helped him with, to not seem like he put in No Effort. but that's not true either, because inside he wrote a short and sweet confession letter, including a sketch of tsukishima (likely during practice). it's very awkward, but clearly genuine. i mean, the sketch was probably from during their time at the training camp in july, so you can imagine the implications!!!

tsukishima, upon being presented the gift, wonders if yamaguchi is trying to confess to him. whatever embarrassment yamaguchi felt is quickly turned on tsukishima when he explains actually, it's from suzu! tsukishima kind of short circuits, ears pink as he silently accepts the gift. for the rest of the day, he avoids or directly rejects any advances from classmates. suzu, however, hears none of this from tsukishima. yamaguchi has to be the one to message suzu and reassure him that if tsukishima's blush and behavior are anything to go by, he liked it. maybe even reciprocates! but tsukishima never mentioned it to suzu, not through messages, or any future study sessions. suzu assumes that while tsukishima received the gift, he didn't return his feelings

UNTIL WHITE DAY!!! these details are fuzzy, but i do think tsukishima would go out of his way to see suzu in person, 2 hour train be damned. and suzu realizes he never considered tsukishima was doing the same thing he was before valentines, thinking and waiting and plotting for their confession. AND THEN THEY GET TOGETHER YAY!!!

okay yaoi scenario number one. asking for complete theoretical physics reasons ok? prometo. Say a still-into-you ex tries to rear their head into Tsukishima('s) and/or Unno's li(f/v)es again. How would each react in either scenario? - ur despised ^_^ , λ

okay i Had to answer this one first, because honestly this scenario intrigues me. i don't think suzu or tsukishima are really ones to have that much experience with relationships, though for different reasons. but if an old ex or first love did come around...

Suzu would probably be oblivious to their interest in him still, until someone points it out to him. He'd be polite, but definitely uncomfortable, making any and every excuse to avoid talking to them. Conveniently, Tsukishima would find himself sticking by Suzu's side more often whenever his ex is around. It's hard to have a conversation with a tall, looming figure glaring daggers at you from the background after all.

Tsukishima shuts it down quick. He's not interested and doesn't have the patience to play nice when they're trying to be all sweet on him. He's also not above lying to get them off his back. Though, he doesn't really need to, with Suzu now clinging to his arm every chance he gets. All pouts and narrowed eyes, if Tsukishima's ex wasn't willing to accept he just wasn't interested in them, maybe seeing him be interested in someone else would ward them off.
