A tsunami of darkness would soon flood World That Never Was and Aqua and Saix were on the border. The faraway city might have exits, but the ground level would be flooded first. And Aqua predicted that once the Shadows gained a foothold, they would advance in leaps. Up or down, up or down? If I’d been alone, I would had made it out of here in time. But Saix is too weak to survive many encounters. One or two will go fine. I’ve done my share of protection missions. But stairs are going to be difficult.
“You’re welcome. If I had been in your state, I would want the same help from anyone else.” She grabbed him tighter around the waist, she hoisted his arm tighter around her neck. "Don’t be afraid to lean on me, it’s important you save your strength. Here comes the first step of the stairs. We’re going up. Please point us to the nearest treasure chest with any elixir or potion.”
