Is there any record of consanguinity in your kingdom? (For example, two cousins, brothers or similar being a sentimental couple).
I'm sure it has occurred at some point in my world. But never as close as siblings or first cousins. Mainly in the way that Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip were married/super distantly related. But Consanguinity is common for irl history. it Doesn't make it right, but history is history.
i just saw your twitter post and i was wondering, what’s the worst state Bastions clothes has ever been in?
Look, things get bad when you can't afford the unstable molecules for your suit, it's not his fault
Dusty,
I must admit my last few letters have been far to brief as I’ve gotten tangled up in family-matters.
Though, a young kodan presented me with a question that made me want to ask you the same:
Would you rather have: Unlimited bacon, but no more games, or games, unlimited games, but no more games?
- Corvus Inkhorn
After finishing the letter, Dusty takes a few moments to consider the contents of what he thought was going to be a serious letter considering what he last had heard from Corvus, before starting up his own response.
Corvus.
I have not played games since I was a cub, which was more decades ago than you can count on your paw. Although the allure of unlimited games is strong, I could not abandon my meat rations. Especially if the alternative entails a cost-free unlimited source of it, so no more games would be my decision.
Thankfully, this is merely a hypothetical. I can enjoy both in the right company, still.
- Tribune Dusty Wanderhorn
💌⚙️⚰️ for the OC(s) currently in your mind!
IM GONNA USE DUSTY, MY BELOVED OLD MAN
💌 - First crush/love
Back before Dusty got lost in the Mists and was known as Tribune Dawnbringer, he knew no reprieve from his duties-- nor did he want one! He loved working, he loved fighting, it made him feel fulfilled, but the only event he made time for was going down to The Bane to watch his close friend and warband member, Akhilleús Dawnpiercer, fight ferocious beasts and fellow charr. Dusty would say it's because he loved seeing fierce fights and the adrenaline that came from them, but the notes in his journals showed otherwise, the long faded sketches of Akhilleus and his spear, the detailed doodles of his musculature... it's all in the past now
⚙️ - Coworkers/boss (krewe/other charr outside of warband)
Dusty was all but forced to reclaim his position as tribune by Crecia herself, he had no desire to do so, but for his greater vision of the legions he begrudgingly realized that this would take him one step closer to doing so; leading to an awkward work relationship with Crecia herself, even she can see through his flat demeanor to see his discomfort in all their meetings.
⚰️ - Someone they lost (not necessarily dead)
After returning from the Mists, Dusty was painfully unaware of how much time had passed, which memories in his head were real-- which ones belonged to the REAL Dusty of this timeline, but one thing was certain, his warband was nowhere to be found, the only member to have been memorialized was Dusty himself, even if he was no longer recognizable to the charr he passed by on the daily. While he claims to have been unaffected by this, unflinching in his newfound duties, he feels a deep pain knowing he'd never see his old warband again; especially Akhilleus
THANK YOU FOR ASKING ME, I LOVE THESE THINGS
Cassius! We would like to know how you consider each of the four elements, the way you use them, the way they feel!
"Earth makes me feel strong, unstoppable! I love it, it helps keep me in the fight even as my body screams at me."
"Fire is MY element! Blade or not; I can burn through EVERYTHING as if it was nothing. Most folk fear this magic, and if I'm the example, I can see why. It... made my time in the fahrar a nightmare."
"I've seen other Elementalists use Air to be more agile, graceful... but I prefer tapping into it's destructive side, controlling the fight with lightning! Despite my praise, my control over it is lacking... Maybe I need to take it easier, I get too aggressive."
"I... I can't attune to Water yet, not competently, at least. Uh, um-- but Aereth is mentoring me for it, though! Says, I'm 'too unfocused and scattered'... Tch, whatever that means!"
Would your charr choose to sire any cubs?
Oberon is always willing to have more, but none are more dear to him than Sigmund. (Literally, he's only aware of another cub of his-- who hates his guts and has tried to kill Oberon on numerous occasions!) If you ask him further, he's certain the rest are doing just fine, probably.
Sigmund is fine, either way. He has no strong desire, especially if there's a chance that they can inherit the same illnesses that he and his brother have.
Dusty has sired cubs before, but that was ages ago. He's not interested for a number of reasons, the main one being a sense of inadequacy; he doesn't feel attractive enough, he thinks there are better things to do-- and he CERTAINLY isn't sure how he feels about cubs are being raised these days! Look at Gaius and Oberon, back in his day, not a single charr would consider being the type of sire they are to their cubs.
Cassius has a lot of scars on his arms? Is there a reason behind it?
Sorta, well, there's a few! The reason he's willing to give is that...
Cassius has never been particularly large or strong, it allowed for a lot of people to pick fights with him when he was younger-- and still do, his body is still generally weak from his condition, so it makes him an easy target for many people, but he has long since learned how to fight back and is why he's so grumpy most of the time!
Long story short, he never learned to dodge, lmao. He learned how to throw a punch but not a better way to avoid an attack than to raise his arms crossed!
