The Goals of This Gift Exchange: How to Drop
I wanted to quickly go over the goals of our gift exchange. We (the staff) want you to be the following during Candlenights this year:
Happy
Healthy
Safe
Proud of Yourself
If – at any point – doing this exchange gets in the way of those first three, please drop!
All gift exchanges are about making someone a little happier, but you have to put your own wellbeing first. We expect this of you, which is why our timeline includes extended deadlines for volunteers to take over any request that needed to be dropped. You aren’t leaving your giftee stranded!
If a gift exchange isn’t about making people happy, it isn’t worth running.
Won’t They Know I Dropped?
Only Gray and I (Evitcani) know who is assigned to what. We will not share that information if you must drop.

What to Do if You Dropped and Received a Present
Enjoy!
If you get a present, don’t guilt yourself over it. Enjoy your present for the happiness and pride it brought someone to give to you. They don’t care if you gave a present or not. Gifting assignments are not two-ways! The person you are giving to is not the same as the person you’re getting from.
So let this help make you happy. You do deserve it. And the person who made your gift did it to help make the start of your year better.

We will take care of your giftee so please take care of yourself. 💖
