i think newlin is the funniest character out of all of my hero/partner duos. he nearly killed someone by violently maiming them, hates everyone around him including his best friend, has literal poison running through him, and has been exiled from society twice. he looks like this.

very briefly had a moment where i was like oh fuck what if people think i'm dehumanizing asta by having her use it/its pronouns alongside she/her while (currently) being my only intersex oc. before remembering oh wait i'm literally an intersex person who has been dehumanized before myself. and also she's not even human anymore and distinctly doesn't identify with that life anymore so can it even be dehumanized at this point

just mentioned this to emery but i'm thinking about my interpretation of my psmd hero and partner and i've been considering making dalia (partner) and mew a system.

it really only becomes relevant during the post game after xerneas tells her the truth as the amnesia made it hard to communicate with and give mew access to the front beforehand with dalia being pretty much frontstuck. and then zaya (hero) meets mew and it's like. it is dalia but it's also not dalia. this is an alter zaya is talking to rn.

the main thing i'm concerned about is how to depict it bodily. and i think i'm overthinking it because this is something that (very possibly) affects me and it's not as if i plan on doing a serious retelling of psmd with this idea in mind anyway, but still i know mew can transform into any pokemon so i coooould work with that but it feels like a cop out since obviously shapeshifting is not an option for systems irl.

i still love the idea and will probably go with it when i finally get zaya and dalia's toyhouse pages written out (after a year of not doing that) but there's still some kinks to iron out with it.
