Since gems minds are able to be reset (via rejuvenator), able to connect with technology, etc…I figured it wouldn’t be too far a stretch to say that their ‘selves’ can be transferred out of their gem.

I haven’t thought of the details yet, but I figure the Puppet King in this episode would have some sort of weapon or device that does just that. Which allows him to override a gem’s mind & control them through their gems. (Maybe something based on a Diamond’s commanding powers?)

Did you ever come up with a design or a gem for Slade in your ttg au? Maybe a brown gem like opal or an agate

His gem will actually change to a Jasper in my reboot, but he was originally a Tiger’s Eye.

Took a bit longer than I planned to get this up, but here’s the rebooted Terra for my TTGems AU~

Funny thing, I actually wanted her to be a Pearl the first time I drew the AU, but decided against it for some reason. Now I figured her being a Pearl would fit nicely (well...not nice for her in terms of situation :\ ) with her following orders of the wrong kind of people, as well as her lack of control of her own body due to Slade at the end of her arc in canon.

In this case, instead of a suit connecting w/ her nervous system that he can use, he ‘owns’ her after she officially joined him & therefore he can just make her do his bidding by ordering her around. Which is why a Pearl was chosen for the fusion experiments to begin with.

As for her powers, I figured she could be an experiment in ‘fusion’. Which actually matches her backstory in the comics anyways in canon, as she and her brother were experimented on & got their powers that way. Obsidian seemed to be a good choice, going by her overall theme in canon of giant lava (aka molten ROCK) goddess. Since they’re such different gems, it explains why Terra!Pearl has such a hard time controlling the powers that the shards give her.

Since you redesigned Starfire (And redesigned wonderfully if I may add) does that mean Blackfire is gonna get an upgrade anytime soon?

i have a question, why does the terra and slade fusion have so many hands : O just design choice or is there something hidden more in there?

It was really just a design choice. *shrug* Plus it’s not like we haven’t see two-fusion gems w/ more than 2 pairs of hands before (Malachite for example).

I’ll probably rework the fusion’s gem type itself, but I liked the fuckton of arms their fusion had. :3

Do Cyborg's limb enhancers integrate into his fusions, or do they just fall off?

They integrate into the fusions.

In this reboot of the AU, he had an original set of enhancers that didn’t integrate, but he worked on them & made it so they could.
