sᴜmmᴀʀʏ 𓄴 Will thought about the elevator in Sweden. He thought about the ice in Boston. And he thought about the notification on his phone with the name “Macky.” Maybe the thread wasn’t red, maybe it wasn’t fire, maybe it was the color of the sea, so deep it threatened to drown you if you dove too far. That thread was there, tangling around his skates every time he tried to move forward, pulling him back to that draft lottery that had changed everything.

Ok but there is so much I wanna know for Takes Two to Tango because I live for the updates!!! 2, 3, 4, 5, 9, 11, 15 sorry not sorry
OK @221bshrlocked the way you went so hard just made me want to cry!!! I love working on Takes Two To Tango and I think about it more than I ought to so I’m glad you’re interested!! And thank you for letting me be self-indulgent for a minute. Also sorry it took me a minute to get to these! I’ll put this under here since this got long.
2. What scene did you first put down?
I’m pretty sure it was the first scene with Faye and Daddy’s Girl. Which makes me laugh because I want to write Pedro smut but, me being me, I need it to pass the Bechdel test first 😂 But really I wanted to convey that Daddy’s Girl was well respected in her position, firm but fair, and compassionate even though she is tough.
3. What’s your favorite line of narration?
This is so hard to pick from! I guess this part from the private dance in Part 2. When I had the idea for this scene it made me blush which usually means I’m onto something.
Pam circled his hips with her own. Pedro blinked for just a second too long, betraying himself. It was a deliciously obscene moment and you couldn’t help but feel like you were puppeting Pam, getting him off without lifting a finger.
4: What’s your favorite line of dialogue?
There’s some dialogue from upcoming chapters that I am excited to share but no spoilers. Honestly, “Because of that schnoz” had me giggling maniacally when I wrote it because I have a love affair with Pedro’s nose.
5. What part was hardest to write?
Answered here!
9. Were there any alternate versions of this fic?
OK I’m so glad I got this question because YES. I don’t know if it’s exactly another version but it’s definitely a sister to this fic because it’s of a similar genre and was also set in the 70s. The premise is something like this:
Pedro is a mafia hitman traveling with the payment from his last job. You are a housekeeper at the motel where he’s hiding out and when you discover his bag of cash, you help yourself to a couple grand. It’s not like he’ll notice it’s even gone. But when he realizes the maid has light fingers, he comes after you to take back what belongs to him.
I don’t know if I’ll finish it. I don’t want to seem like I’m retreading the same ground. But maybe you guys would be into it 🤷♀️
11. What do you like best about this fic?
Honestly that I’m completing and posting it? I haven’t really shared any of my writing since I was in school except for a couple fics here and there but I write all the time. I’ve always worked on lengthy projects but never actually finished anything. This fic feels ambitious to me so getting positive feedback just makes my heart burst. I’m so glad I’ve found such supportive people here!
15, What did you learn from writing this fic?
I have learned A LOT. How to write first and edit later. How to ask for help with my writing. Learned a lot about how filthy I am willing to be in my writing. I’ve gotten better at story structure. I also feel like I’ve gotten more confident with what I put out there.
Anyway, if you’ve read any of that, you’ve probably already read Takes Two to Tango but I feel like I should plug it. And clearly I love going on and on about it so don’t feel shy if you want to ask me anything.
Next chapter of Takes Two to Tango will be out Friday evening! Here’s a little taste.
It was probably the most idiotic idea you’d had in your life. You were supposed to be avoiding Pedro Pascal. You’d gotten off the hook with him clean. But here you were, voluntarily going to his club, reminding him that you existed. Why were you doing that? Your brain was doing an Olympics-level gymnastics routine to justify that this was reasonable.
It was just a nightclub. It was the most popular one downtown. And Pedro wouldn’t actually be there, you told yourself. And so what if he was? You could go there. He’d gotten a lap dance at your club. In a way, he owed you.
Sure.
It didn’t have anything to do with the fact that your heart sped up when you thought about walking into his nightclub. You weren’t wondering if you might bump into him. And you hadn’t picked out something to wear that made you look like walking sex because of that. You just wanted to look good. Was that a fucking crime? Christ.
This is such a tough one to answer. @pascalslittlebrat you know more than most how much I’ve struggled!!
I think my main challenges are with pacing and creating a believable relationship between Pedro and Daddy’s Girl. I know they have chemistry but I've also created two characters that are too stubborn for the good of the plot. I really hope it all seems natural when it happens.
