@tuansum ( mark’s got one job, okay, one job. to lose, he better fucking lose )

eyes lowered for a few seconds, only to catch a glimpse of what his fingers are doing. or what they’re supposed to be doing. jinhwan’s quick to look back up at the screen though, he knows it’s the best way to not lose track of the racing car on the screen. he’s had his fair share of playing around with the other boys when they have down time, he knows the best ways to get around any path. but this is a new game and he wants to, maybe get good at it before he has to throw himself in the midst of ikon and their ways of being competitive enough to drive jinhwan up a wall sometimes. or make him even more competitive. playing alone would’ve done the trick, but why chose the option when company could be had? 

“yah, hyung, aren’t you supposed to be teaching me how this works? all i can see is you trying to win.” and not just trying, if anyone else could witness this, they’d be watching jinhwan unable to get a hold of his car a few times and mark just literally sliding down every path like he’s done this before. well, some people are naturally born with some talents, jinhwan supposes. nothing he can do about that. but this isn’t a real match, hence why he’s voiced his complain as he tries yet again to make the racing car turn around and not have it drive backwards as it was doing. he’s not even sure how he managed the position the car’s in right now.

      “Tch.” Yeonha’s been helpful, she’s been hovering behind him and whispering for about five minutes. She’s trying to psych him out and it won’t work.

       It’s not that he’s not ready it’s just - “It’s been a while,” since he skateboarded. It used to be a daily activity, not just back home but when he first came to Korea. It’s not that he doesn’t do it anymore but the skills gone a little lukewarm since he started. Well, lukewarm would be an understatement.

     “Waah, I can’t believe I’m letting you talk me into this.” His hands fiddle with the skateboard, night breeze running over his face each time he blinks over the rail. If there’s one thing Mark can’t back down from it’s things that he rests his pride in. Things like dancing, singing, maybe not yet but athletics he didn’t let anyone hold a candle to him. It was more of the pride of the accomplishment than bragging rights. He did like to brag though. Yeonha didn’t have to talk him into anything, the challenge itself was enough to get him to go. The park is usually closed at this time, but like many others he’s found the entrance to sneak in at night and make it to the park.

     “Alright……I’m going, you better follow right behind or you lose.” And JYP help him if he screws up but he’s hopped on the skateboard and lowering himself into the concrete bowl.

“i’m not talking you into anything, you’re doing this on your own.” she doesn’t have to be intuitive to sense uneasiness. it’s only natural, after a while, to assume your skills with a certain activity have diminished once they’re not actively taken advantage of anymore. it’s like that with some things, maybe, but the most that ever happens is a slow start. you’ve only gotta warm up again, not re-learn whatever it is. skateboarding is like riding a bike, yeonha thinks. you don’t just forget how to do it? you’ll adjust the second you step onto the board and give yourself a nice kick off. 

at least she hopes so - isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed, could very likely be wrong, and this could end in bruises and blood, a lawsuit from his company because she’s the one who ( debatable ) pushed mark into this. prays he’ll be a good enough friend to step in for her, because it’s not like he couldn’t back out. it might’ve ended in lots of teasing and the elder probably knows that, but she’d forget about it eventually. it would’ve been more bearable than forcing yourself to do something you’re not ready for. 

“i lose?” pfft. if anything, yeon will be leading the two. a star student, if anyone else shows up, their eyes will be on her. nonetheless, she’s still right behind him. or technically to the side of him? she’s calculated ( this is a lie, she’s bad at math ) her placement. picked a spot where they could both fall in at the same time, maneuver without ( hopefully ) running into each other. but it’s more thrilling, more exhilarating with a risk. “you better watch out before i purposely crash into you.” she’s competitive and it’s a threat, but an empty one. maybe if she was skating with a bunch of clones of herself, she wouldn’t hesitate to smack into their lanky bodies. yeonha isn’t angry enough or doesn’t hate mark enough to want to put him in actual danger, not when she can’t predict an outcome. 

who knows what could happen if he got hurt here. could end up with a bruise or a fucking snapped neck. she’d much rather go for things like punches, where she knows, upon choosing where her fist will meet, that the most that’ll happen is some discoloration. now comes the part where she drops in too, no hesitation, body falling naturally because this isn’t anything new to her. not a pro but not an amateur either, yeon picks up the pace and decides to be a little extra, doing a trick when she comes up on the other side of the bowl.

taurus: are you a dog or cat person?— I’m a small animal person … I really like both puppies and kitties, but I must confessed I get a little bit more scared of bigger dogs, especially if it’s quite energetic. Usually i’m alright with cats but sometimes I can be a bit wary, particularly if they hiss. Truth be told, i’m a big scaredy cat !

gemini: are you introverted or extroverted?— Introverted, though I try a lot to be extroverted. When I was younger it was a lot worse, I was a really timid child and my parents worried. Actually, that’s partially how I got into my agency — because I was such an introverted kid, I enrolled myself into a dance academy so that I could make new friends and work on my confidence. From there, I was given the opportunity to audition for DSP and the rest is history. Anyway… I went of on a tangent, i’m sorry ! But to summarise, i’m an introvert who tries very hard to hide that fact.
