Always saddens me to hear the death of a great artist and its no different with Mohamed Saleeban Tubeec. Never met him in person but I have family members and friends who knew him, some had him as a guest in their weddings, others attended his performances. Still, in all my experiences discussing Mohamed Tubeec w/ people, I have never heard anyone say anything negative or bash his personal life in anyway. I heard he was very down to earth and over came a lot in his life. Both Tubeec and Cumar dhuule are from a tribe that has been mistreated and discriminated against in Somalia. Heard this story from ayeeyo that one day Cumar Dhuule pulled Tubeec to the side one after heated argument and exchanging insults with another guy. Apparently the man said something about his tribe, and Tubeec was really insecure and got very upset; so Cumar Dhuule took him to the side and told him "hold your head up and embrace who you are, if you walk like a king no man can make you feel small."  With that I do like to take this night, and use this post and salute one of my favorite Somali voices. I knew he was sick but his death came really shocking and I do like to say to his family and friends "Samir iyo Iman kuli." May he Rest in Fardowsa. RIP to a LEGEND:(
