I'm working on my green smoothie intake as per our latest blog post.
I know productivity is hard this time of the summer. Trust me....I know. But here is one of my favorite Spotify playlists that’s great for staying focused on your work. Get it, get it!
Send some mail
I've got SO much mail to send today. It is always so great to get a note from a friend instead of a bill when you open your mailbox. Right? If you have a few seconds today, shoot off a postcard to a pal!
EXPLAIN A HARD IDEA USING ONLY THE TEN HUNDRED MOST USED WORDS
Today, in my scientific communication class, we tried to explain our research using only the 1,000 most commonly used words. Check out my attempt, linked above. I’d love to see other people give it a try! Post yours up and tag us, so I can wander over and read them.
Here was my go at it: “I study the land that is covered by water, but only sometimes. In these sometimes water covered places, strange things from far away can arrive and cause problems. I want to know how these strange things, especially the green growing things, change what sorts of tiny animals live under them. If these animals change, what does that mean for other animals who eat them? Would cutting down the strange green things change it back to the animals that were there before? We probably won’t stop having strange green things arrive by chance, so we better start understanding them.”
I was looking for something for a Tuesday Tasks post that basically amounted to “do something active” because being active is fun and, at least for me, makes me feel energized and happier. So I did a little search in Tumblr and...hell. 90% of what popped up was food negative, representative of unrealistic body image, or just plain triggering if you have food/body issues. So, instead of sharing any of that, I’ll link you to this super awesome blog post by my friend Katie. As we move into the holidays, when so many people are so focused on food and then on New Years Resolutions, try to keep in mind that you don’t know what people around you are struggling with in their own heads.
Let’s all get going on those tasks we’ve been avoiding...
