Back in the clan, it was a well-known secret that Tuftkit is Yewshadows kitten, but since medicine cats are discouraged from having a family, she had to give Tuftkit to the Queens to raise. Though this didn't stop her from still talking to Tuftkit and teaching her many things.

The Clan had Opinions about this little "scandal," but tried to keep the kits out of Clan drama until they're apprentices. Thus, none of these kits know about the judgy adult drama... As far as Tuftkit is aware, Yewshadow was just her favorite cat.
