So now Tumblr has started to email about finding (and flagging) inappropriate content in one’s blog. Hmmm. 

“As outlined in our Community Guidelines, and effective as of December 17, 2018, adult content is no longer allowed on Tumblr.

You’re receiving this email because you recently uploaded content onto your Tumblr, that has been flagged as adult content.

If you feel we have miscategorized your posts even after reviewing the Community Guidelines on adult content, please let us know by asking us to review this decision.“

OK, fair enough - but there are no Tumblr provided tools to see which posts are those, which makes it hard to ask for a review. So, great.

When I used the recently circulated Tampermonkey script, I did find several flagged posts, but as long as they are reblogged posts, again there is nothing much one can do. I have tried to send messages to the OP’s, but they are not always easy to find, and many messaging attempts lead to a note telling me the message couldn’t be sent.

And then when I finally get to some of my original posts, what do I see?? Apparently, food is new porn (well, we have always heard about food-porn, so no surprises there I guess). Buckwheat galettes, tea-smoked duck with tamarind and plum sauce and yabbies - how naughty of me! (Oh, the last one? He is a dish isn't he?).

So it looks like Tumblr has finally gotten its act together! (or maybe the new changes have been installed a while ago but it took this long for them distil here down under…).

When I opened Tumblr this morning I was greeted by a header like above - and when clicking it, I saw my flagged posts and a new header. Even more, in my Settings, I also saw the new line in the menu for “Review flagged post”.

Hurrah!

(Also, embarrassed about a large number of drafts...I should really do something about them...)

(Of course, I couldn't though appeal for all the posts; out of 5 flagged posts 2 didn't have an appeal button so they must be beyond redemption, I guess???)
