Day one of SDCC is over! We survived, the cosplayers thrived, and now we’re giving you the goods.
Please gaze upon the spoils of cosplaying experts. We met the true monarch of beef, found Harley Quinn looking a little different (drop the skincare routine!), saw Keanu Reeves bravely choose to get on another bus despite his last harrowing interaction with one in the very real documentary, Speed, and wondered...if a flock of crows is called a murder then what’s a gathering of Marges called?
San Diego Comic-Con offers more than cosplay, of course! It would be a mistake to miss Artists’ Alley, and an even bigger mistake to miss artist Joel Gomez (@j0elg). Like that custom, one-of-a-kind Tumblr-inspired art? Go buy it. No, really. As of right now, it’s still up for sale at his Artists’ Alley table, CC-15.
See you tomorrow for the best of SDCC day two, Tumblr. Don’t forget you can see all of our upcoming official SDCC celebrity interviews, GIFs, videos, and photos right over in the #TumblrSDCC tag.
Tumblr! Later next week, we’re going to SDCC for the fifth year in a row! We’ll be reblogging some of our best stuff right here to @staff, but you can catch all the cosplay and fandom stuff on @fandom, your favorite video game things on @gaming, live draws from Artist Ally on @art, and exclusives with your favorite celebs will live right on @entertainment.
To get you in the spirit for this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, we’ve collected some of the best cosplay from cons past. From Pennywise to Lego Scully and Mulder accompanied a Reticulian (we want to believe), and everyone between ‘em in the photoset above, these congoers went all out. And this is just the tip of the wig and polyester iceberg. To see the rest of our cosplay coverage from past SDCCs, NYCCs and beyond, head on over to @fandom’s cosplay tag!

Cole Sprouse, of Riverdale, The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, and Big Daddy fame, took a couple of minutes out of his day at San Diego Comic-Con to chat with us about what a Jughead movie would look like so we could turn his dream into a movie poster GIF. He also talked about his love for Guy Fieri. We’re just waiting for Guy Fieri to visit Pop’s in an episode of Riverdale.
If there was a biopic made about the life of the character you play, what would it be called?
All I’m coming up with is Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. Like a Guy Fieri tribute: Diners, Drive-Ins, and Crimes.
What would the movie poster look like?
Jughead in the front in a Guy Fieri pose, with Pop’s in the background.
Any fun facts about Guy Fieri?
He’s nominated for an Emmy this year, he has officiated hundreds of gay weddings, and Versace has been stealing his style for years.
Thanks, Cole!

The cast and showrunner behind She-Ra and the Princesses of Power couldn’t have been any busier at San Diego Comic-Con, but that didn’t stop them from giving their fans on Tumblr (that’s you) an exclusive interview. Show of hands: Who wants Girls with Swords to be a real thing?
If there was a biopic made about She-Ra, what would it be called?
Noelle Stevenson: Girls with Swords.
What would be the tagline?
Noelle Stevenson: “One girl, one sword, one destiny.”
If your character could come to SDCC, who would they cosplay as?
Lauren Ash: Scorpia would cosplay as Catra.
You’re having a fandom dinner party. What four characters do you invite?
Marcus Scribner: Bow from She-Ra, Kaneki from Tokyo Ghoul, Eren from Attack on Titan, and Rock Lee from Naruto.
Have you ever been starstruck? Who was it?
Aimee Carrero: Constantly. Lucy Lawless from Xena: Warrior Princess.
What would the theme song be?
Merit Leighton: Sailor Moon theme song.
Thanks all!

Like what you see? Keep reading for even more answers below the cut.
Do you have a favorite friendship on the show?
Aimee Carrero: Catra and Scorpia.
Do you have any headcanons for the things you love?
Lauren Ash: Scorpia thinks she's the only person who knows how to sing. She thinks that she discovered this new thing and she thinks "I got this ability that nobody else has!" But eventually, she'll probably find out that everyone has the ability to sing. What a let down that would be for her!
If your character could come to SDCC, who would they cosplay as?
Marcus Scribner: Sea Hawk for sure!
If you were in a food fight and you could only use one type of food, what type of food would you use?
Aimee Carrero: I'd use like, an egg salad. Something disgusting like—just real gross that would be stuck in the hair and smells for days.
If you could create your own con, what would it be?
Merit Leighton: I'd love a pastel lovers convention, like a rainbow lovers convention.
If you could do a crossover with any other property, which one would you pick?
Marcus Scribner: Naruto.
Aimee Carrero: Xena! I mean—Xena! I feel like it's meant to be, like it's a good fit.
Terry Crews took a few minutes out of his busy schedule of Terrying it up at San Diego Comic-Con to chat with us about everyone’s favorite yogurt loving sergeant.
If there was a biopic made about the life of the character you play, what would it be called?
Kindergarten Cop 2: The Comeblack.
What would be the tagline?
Terry loves yogurt.
Do you have a nickname for fans of Brooklyn Nine-Nine?
99ers.
Do you have any headcanons for your character?
Terry loves yogurt. What can I say? It says everything about him. Because this is the thing, when you look at yogurt commercials they are typically female. They are very gentle and there’s very feminine energy to it and I think Sergeant Jeffords has a lot of that which I like.
How would you describe Brooklyn Nine-Nine to a 5 year old?
It’s a group of crazy guys all together who work very hard to fight crime.
Thanks, Terry!

SDCC BioGIFs: Ted Danson & D’Arcy Carden, The Good Place
Ted Danson and D’Arcy Carden took time out of their busy week at San Diego Comic-Con to talk to Tumblr about what they imagined a biopic about Janet and Michael would look like. Even though Janet for sure already knows exactly what it would look like. This is SDCC BioGIFs.
If there was a biopic made about Janet and Michael, what would it be called?
The Reformed Demon and the Computer, Not a Computer.
What would be the tagline?
The reason is friends.
Thanks, Ted and D'Arcy!

SDCC BioGIFs: Amelia Rose Blaire and Bryan Dechart
We caught up with actress Amelia Rose Blaire and Twitch streamer Bryan Dechart at San Diego Comic-Con to ask them questions and turn their answers into a dream movie poster in a new series of posts we’re calling SDCC BioGIFs. The married couple, who celebrated their one year anniversary last month, did not disappoint.
If there was a biopic made about your life, what would it be called?
Amelia & Bryan: Play the Positive.
Who would play you?
Bryan: Tom Holland.
Amelia: Emma Stone.
If Connor was attending Comic-Con, who would he cosplay as?
Bryan: Inspector Gadget.
If you could have any fictional character be a guest on your channel, who would it be and why?
Amelia: My Little Pony, Firefly, just because she was close to my heart when I was little. I loved—LOVED—My Little Pony, so if I got to meet her it would be like meeting my childhood self.
Big thanks to Bryan and Amelia!

Hey! It’s Tumblr fave Ike Barinholtz. We were amazed that he took the time out of his busy schedule of attending San Diego Comic-Con, cyberbullying former costar Mindy Kaling, and promoting his latest show, Bless the Harts. Read on to hear about his dream (fake) biopic that we turned into the above SDCC BioGIF, and why his character Morgan could someday turn to murder.
If there was a biopic made about your life, what would it be called?
3-Day Old Pizza.
What would be the tagline?
“Just because it's old it doesn't mean it's bad.”
What’s something on your bucket list that you haven’t done yet?
See the film The Bucket List.
If you put every character you’ve ever played in a room together, what do you think would happen?
They'd all eventually be killed by Morgan from The Mindy Project, because he'd have panicked and thought he was going to starve to death and he'd kill them all and start to eat them.
If you could create your own con, what would it be?
ConCon, and it's a convention for con artists and grifters.
Thanks Ike!
