Hey Isabela! I was just wondering, since you're an artist, and you have an appreciation for art-things, what your opinion is on the whole Jesus-restoration-monkey-incident is. I've seen predominantly three sides: One is that people are upset/sad that the painting was ruined. Two is that people appreciate what the lady was trying to do, and aren't upset. And three, is that people think the whole thing is funny. I was just wondering what you thought about it :p
I just have a terrible weakness for really old things, especially art and such, so of course a part of my soul screeched when I first heard the news. And I totally understand she had the best intentions and I really can’t hold anything against her (poor woman, bless her soul) but still a part of me thinks: “Lady no, what were you even thinking?”
BUT:
IT’S SO TOTES FUNNY WATER U TALKING ‘BOUT So yeah, I guess this is my primary opinion. Also, had anyone even heard of the painting before the incident? Yeah, nobody basically. Sadly, there could have even been an earthquake and the church could have come crumbling down and it would still not be receiving as much attention as it’s doing today. But now it’s famous! The church is a tourist attraction and a world-wide hit. So I guess life has a funny way of working out sometimes doesn’t it?
