In your hyena post, you are calling it "he," saying you talk to him, feeling like he's looking over your shoulder, and talking as if your theriotype is separate from you. Typically theriotypes are not entirely separate from the individual.

Have you looked into daemonism and possibly having a daemon? From what you said it sounds a lot like that. Daemons are thoughtforms or spirits that are an extension of our soul, and often do things like make us focus on meeting our needs and other kinds of self care. They typically take on the shape of an animal.

Or they may be some other kind of headmate/thoughtform/etc.?

Oh that's really interesting. I've never heard if that, I think I've seen the tag in passing but never looked into it. I think I need to do a bit more research but that does lowkey sound like Tumte.

It's strange bc he does feel separate from me? Like we get into arguments sometimes where he'll only talk to my bf? Also I used to think he was just a mental manifestation of my hunger to make eating easier (hence the name Tumte) and when I realized he was all my basic needs my bf asked if he still wanted to be called Tumte. His response was "I mean I've never had a name before so I'm still forming an opinion"

I will say i don't think it's a headmate. I didn't have any super intense childhood trauma and while I did go through some stuff a bit later in middleschool and high-school, I don't present any other symptoms of DID other than a general feeling of plurality. No amnesia or lost sense of time or anything like that.

Do you (or anyone for that matter) have any resources or places to start when researching Daemonism?

Yall I thought I only had one theriotype and this is gonna sound weird but my like,, base needs has a theriotype? I talk to him when I need to eat or sleep or stuff and he's in charge or that. But he's some kinda of animal and I thought he was an African wild dog and then I thought maybe a serval because he purrs?

But he's a spotted hyena!!!! So I've added that to my bio bc he likes to reblog stuff and look too. It almost feels like he's looking over my shoulder? Idk but!!!! Cool !!!!!
