Tuna Tataki Sushi is a delicious fusion dish that combines the tastes of seared tuna with the freshness of sushi rice. The sesame seeds give the food a crunchy texture and the marinade gives it a rich flavor.
Ingredients: 200g sushi-grade tuna loin. 2 tablespoons soy sauce. 1 tablespoon sesame oil. 1 teaspoon grated ginger. 1 teaspoon minced garlic. 1 tablespoon sesame seeds. 1 tablespoon chopped green onions. 4 sheets nori seaweed. 2 cups sushi rice, cooked. Wasabi and pickled ginger, for serving.
Instructions: In a bowl, mix soy sauce, sesame oil, grated ginger, minced garlic, and sesame seeds. Slice tuna loin into thin slices. Marinate tuna slices in the soy sauce mixture for 5-10 minutes. Heat a skillet over high heat and sear the tuna slices briefly on each side 10-15 seconds per side. Remove tuna from the skillet and let it cool slightly. Place a sheet of nori on a bamboo sushi mat, spread a thin layer of sushi rice on top. Arrange tuna slices on the rice, sprinkle with chopped green onions, and roll tightly using the sushi mat. Slice the sushi roll into bite-sized pieces. Serve with wasabi, pickled ginger, and extra soy sauce for dipping.
