During his field trips, Ong Kian Peng was intrigued by the extensive tagging around the city and how it was limited to certain geo-cultural locations. He thought that it would be interesting to explore this phenomenon. But as he explored the city by train, it dawned on him that there was an extensive underground network in Paris. This prompted him to start thinking about the resonance and reverberations in them, and finally leading to the idea about listening to spaces and sound as data.
