Woolly Chanterelle - Turbinellus floccosus

Turbinellus floccosus (Gomphales - Gomphaceae), Syn. Gomphus floccosus, is not a true Chanterelle but a cantharelloid mushroom. It is characterized by its cylindrical cap, becoming vase-shaped, up to 15 cm broad, coarsely scaly at maturity, and color yellowish-orange to reddish-orange fading in age.

This mushroom which is also known as Scaly Vase Chanterelle, occurs in North America and Asia including: Korea, China, Tibet, Nepal, India, and Pakistan.
