They are indeed, Man Man.

In 2008 I stepped off a train in Amsterdam prepared for a most unusual night of noise. The eccentric group Man Man had caught my attention just months earlier and I was thrilled to find they would be playing at the Paradiso, a beautiful church with incredible history in Amsterdam. My dear friend Anika and I sat outside the venue hours before the doors even opened, drawing mustaches on our fingers and asking any men who walked by if they were Men Men. Eventually, we hit the jackpot by finding men who were indeed, Man Man. 

The show was held in the smallest hall the Paradiso has, an old room used for sunday school. It's a venue that feels as though you have entered a grand, yet quant, living room, fireplace and all. It was perfect for Man Man. Spoons, chocolates, coins, wigs, and costumes were just a few items featured in their performance, all of which caught the audience in the band's spell. 

After the show Honus Honus invited my friend and I to join them backstage, commenting on our perfect mustached renditions of them. We were interviewed with the fabulous men while drinking our beers and giggling like you couldn't believe. 

The truth about Man Man is this, although their music may be good, their attitudes are better. Man Man is an experience, not just a band. 

Trivia Facts: Prior to being called Man Man the group went by the name Gamelon and briefly, Magic Blood. Members names are: Honus Honus, Turkey Moth, Pow Pow, Critter Crat, Jefferson, and Chang Wang.
