i didn't draw much, but at the same time, you didn't miss much beyond it being Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball, and more Dragon Ball over on my side blog @rose-ramblings
...what do you mean I haven't done one of these in two years
rambling about each section under the Read More:
January: These pieces happened so early into the year that I thought I drew them last December until I checked the file date. and it's just... appreciation for getting a compliment and GSU Vegito with his tits hanging out. hilarious start. Honorable mentions include: a sketch of Xeno Goldic freezing his ass off, normal Goldic dead on the floor, and my Year of the Snake doodle that I technically finished, but never posted... so... here's the sketch for that too.
February: I'm actually surprised that my God of Destruction Zamasu doodle was this year. I thought it was last year. This is also when Daima's SSJ4 became a thing, so I did some doodles in an attempt to comprehend the design... Never colored them, though.
March: Weirdly enough, the only thing I drew this month (that I could find on my art drive) was my Saiyan Day doodle: a pair of matching Gokus handing you the potara for their respective fusions. It's also one of the rare times I've made two pieces out of one sketch by flipping it on the canvas. If it wasn't obvious, Goku was the base sketch and Goku Black came later. The plan with this one was always to draw both of them, I just didn't feel like drawing two whole sketches that would've resulted in this outcome anyway. Only part of this piece that I'm not proud of is the fact I almost forgot the Time Ring on GB's finger, which is why it looks like shit compared to everything else. Honorable mention includes the whiteboard doodles I did on sixsix680's canvas. That was fun.
April: Here begins this year's theme of "unfinished projects," being my scrapped first attempt at drawing something for a poll I did in the Saiyan Simps community, alongside a doodle of Corrupt Merged Zamasu that I spent way too much time correcting the proportions on. I drew two whole sketches for that fucker, and even then, I had to adjust the digital sketch so many times that I felt like I was losing my mind. GSU Vegito's sketch also got a redo for that piece. Paper sketch is what Sparking Zero did to them, digital part is what they're supposed to be. To me. I'm still upset that they made so many models, but Corrupt Merged Zamasu was the character where they were like "ah, just take the base form and slap some slime on it, it'll be fine-" NO! IT'S NOT FINE!! CORRUPT MERGED ZAMASU'S ANATOMY IS DIFFERENT ENOUGH TO NEED A WHOLE NEW MODEL!!! They also didn't make him big enough. He's supposed to be as big as roughly full power Broly (maybe bigger), but they made him the same size as normal Merged Zamasu. I'll probably die made about it. Anyway, the scrapped GSU Turles doodle was supposed to be a three-part turlerad comic, but I uh. Got Distracted and ended up writing a fanfic with them instead. I didn't even draw a detailed sketch for the third section, it's just their wire frames! Sadness. Honorable mentions for this section include: GSU Goku comforting GSU Vegeta before I knew how to draw Goku's hair from the back properly and a random GSU Goku doodle that was supposed to turn into a ref sheet for him, but then I never did anything with it, so...
May: A lot happened in May, surprisingly. Another emote for me to use, Goldic being all cute in her feral form with her sword, and two digital doodles with different crop sizes of Zamasu and Goku Black that exist for the simple purpose of showcasing my self-imposed challenge of giving them an alt coloration that didn't include neutral tones in 90% of it. Blood for the blood lily, death to fuel the rose.
June: Due to an art slump and a bit of mental burnout, I didn't draw much for Pride Month. or the next few months either. Only thing I managed to get down in-between being gay and playing games was the sketch for the doodle I ended up using for that poll I mentioned earlier. That's it. That's the only thing I managed to draw.
July: Didn't do much here either. I think I started another digital-only doodle doc, but I forgot to export most of them when I finished their sketches. Of the few I actually remembered to export, one was this doodle that I posted earlier today on the side blog. Tried my damnedest to finish it, but no dice. Sadness.
August: Here we have the finished version of the turlerad shenanigans, but also the reveal of yet another unfinished project! This sketch spawned from a piece of writing (that I also never posted) about a What If scenario for the Future Saga. What if Goku and Vegeta used Gowasu's potara to fuse instead of Shin's? The result is this:
things going horribly wrong and creating this monstrosity of a quad fusion. Proportions are a bit whack since I was feeling more of the burnout at this stage, but this is basically just an attempt at fusing Vegito and Merged Zamasu together. Except the way it actually happened was everyone used the potara at the same time and happened to be in the wrong places at the wrong time, resulting in all four crashing in the middle and making this. I meant to use this sketch to figure out his complicated design before making some art to post with the writing, but I never got around to finishing it, so it's sitting in its tomb on my art drive instead. "Merged Vegito Black," or whatever you want to call him, is a fusion that embodies his fusion parts, but struggles to comprehend himself or his thoughts due to the extremes inhabiting his mind. He is Vegito. He is Zamasu. He is both and neither at the same time and their conflicting ideals are tearing him apart inside. And he just has to live with it. Forever. A man-made seal for an immortal threat, forced to wander a universe where everything managed to work out in the end, all while being tortured by the very pieces he was created from. This is truly the worst possible outcome for them.
...I also said "fuck it, we ball" and posted my self-indulgent kakamasu sketch this month. Which was also supposed to be finished, but never was. That's the honorable mention.
September: I thought I didn't draw anything this month, but that was a LIE!!! Turns out I drew more kakamasu stuff, lol. Was very much enjoying my new favorite rarepair here. Also couldn't sleep one day and drew Zamasu to cope.
October: Spooky Month was pain, pussy problems, and me attempting to make a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon style sprite for Zamasu. There's only one sprite. I wanted to do so much more, but only managed to make the one thing. I think I did pretty well on everything except the face. I'm not sure what to do to finish the face and it bothers me. Only reason I used an outdated version of the sprite for the recap image is because I thought it'd look better than the most recent updated version, which has the color palette slapped on too. Here's a 4x larger version of it so you can see it properly:
November: Something I've noticed over the years is that November tends to be when I cook the hardest for no comprehendable reason. I just make a beautiful piece of work worthy of being a background for something and this year was a screenshot redraw of Merged Zamasu stopping Goku and Vegeta at the same time. How I manage to do this is a mystery to even me. Also made Zamasu slap GB's ass. for no reason in particular.
December: Then, of course, we've got the Mega Lucario Z doodle and my late Christmas doodle. These were the most recent, so you've probably seen them by now. Honorable mention here is my latest attempt at getting myself to render Zuka's Spirit(ous) form. I've yet to start the lineart for it, let alone color and render it.
one of these days i'll be able to just draw whatever comes to mind again... there's so much i want to draw...
