Once again, my post ends up being later in the day because I was, at the last minute, desperately trying to put together something just a bit special for the occasion. 😂 I fucking love Robert Townsend, so I couldn’t just not do an edit for Culper Jr. too.

He’s so subtle and discreet, and yet so badass in that quiet way of his— until, well, he’s not so quiet in his badassery, lol. Truly one of the most iconic roles in the show for me, and a characters who’s impacted me in ways that few others ever have in my life, so shoutout to Nick Westrate for portraying him so well!

Anyways, hope you enjoyed whatever this edit was, and that you took the time to think about this absolute badass today ;)

Turn Week 2025– Day 4: Favorite Battle Depiction

Yorktown time!! Happy Fourth of July to those celebrating. ❤️

As per my usual, here’s a silly goofy edit at the very last minute— though that being said it is still Fourth of July where I am!!

When I thought about all the battle scenes in Turn, not gonna lie I did struggle a lot to pick a favorite one. I know people like to verbally shred every scene for historical inaccuracies, but I assure y’all that was not a part of my decision lmao— historical FICTION exists for a reason. ;))

Anyhow, the Battle of Monmouth scene is probably the battle depiction that gets the biggest emotional reaction out of me, especially because of the song that plays over it (Set it Right- it is a CRIME this soundtrack was never officially released, I tell you!), and I love the lead up and Washington’s dialogue with Lee, so of course honorable mention to that!

But. It’s the Fourth of July so it felt appropriate to celebrate the birth of our nation here lmao, and what better battle to do that with than the epic Yorktown scene?

Everything about how this scene was put together is appealing to me— the way this scene was shot, edited, the color palette as per my usual, the camerawork and all of the cool individual shots that can be found throughout it— this scene can get me emotional too, because by god is it a powerful one! There are few things that get me as hyped.

Anyhow, thanks for the support as always, and hope everyone enjoys whatever this edit is!

Turn Week 2025– Day 2: Favorite Underrated Episode

For this prompt, I of course have to say what may very well be my all-time favorite episode— Private Woodhull. ;)

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I say this one is underrated simply because season 4 generally doesn’t seem to be the most popular season of the show— which I get considering how we COULD have had five seasons and more time for certain things, gah. Tragic that AMC would rob us of this!! 😂

But nevertheless, I find season 4 to be very enjoyable despite the possibility of pacing issues and the fact that it’s a little more chaotic, and no episode more than this one.

And where do I even start? Of course, as a lover of Ben’s season four hair, I must say Seth Numrich simply looks amazing in this one, which for sure contributes to my enjoyment lmao. But also there’s the Townhull aspect, and by GOD were we given a treat with how they interacted in this one (cue all the “cloak room” jokes… and we must never forget the Coat Room Fic TM ;)).

Anyhow, I’m also just a sucker for the color palettes in a lot of these scenes, so maybe a lot just boils down to simple aesthetics, but I think Private Woodhull is more than a visual feast, but has a lot of crucial and intriguing plot points that come up within it as well that make it such a fun and entertaining rollercoaster to ride!

Shoutout to Joe Sturridge too for existing too.

I’ve probably gone yapping about how much I love rewatching this episode before, but in summary; Private Woodhull is certainly full of drama, but no so much of it that it completely loses its sense of humor in scenes where appropriate. Always a blast for me to revisit that Kennedy House party scene in particular!

There’s so many other things in this ep I could talk about, but I think I said enough lmao. As always, thanks for reading!
