Raising the glass to his lips, Evan only took a brief sip from it, observing someone from over his glass. Truth be told, he’d been observing them for a while, only waiting for the opportune moment to make his move. And when it finally came, it was with a smirk that the man moved through the crowds and stood in front of them. “What a delightful surprise to see you here.”

A beam of inspiration seemed to hit her when she saw the person walking in front of her. It took no time before Cordelia made quick steps to reach them, making them stop as she stood in front of them herself. “You have one of the most beautiful. interesting figure I’ve seen! Would you mind modelling a few outfits for me? I have so many ideas of what I could create for you!” She said, all in one go. Her grin didn’t falter as she looked up at the other person, sincerely hoping for a positive response.

“Some days, I feel like it would all be so much better if we were all still back in Hogwarts.” Florence said as she felt someone sit in front of her, although she kept her eyes on her work. Even if she had her computer opened in front of her, she was scribbling down on a parchment. It was only merely there so she could check back on the notes she took during the last game between the Puddlemere United and the Wimbourne Wasps. Which had been a rather disappointing game for the later.

“Can you believe my Tinder date stood me up? On New Years, nonetheless. I suppose that means no midnight kiss for me, unless you’d like to volunteer.”

Rita felt awful. She’d woken up that morning with a head full of cold and the potion to rid it from her had been nowhere to be seen. She’d stumbled out of the house, wrapped up inside every warm accessory going, heading for the potioneer on Diagon Alley to get rid of the blasted thing, only to break her heel on the cobbles. Foul curses spilled from her mouth and she stumbled forward, lucky not to hit the ground face first. Out came her wand, and the issue was fixed, but the worsened mood remained. She was missing the perfect winter lighting to top it all off, this would have been perfect weather for an instagram shoot. “Why is it always me?” She spat at nothing in particular, brow furrowed.

“So that was interesting.” Riley said, talking about the events that ended the New Years ball. Everything was so dramatic in the wizarding world, which was something the Riley could never get used too, even though she’d been here since she was two.

That certainly put an end to the Ball, and started the year with a bang. But to Alina, it wasn’t long until she was over the event. Which, on the opposite, the other person wasn’t, as they kept on rambling about it. “I get this was a shock to all of us, but can we just... change topic?” She didn’t mean to offend, or to sound rude, but she was little to nothing affected by it.

“How about we toast to the new year?” Andy said, holding up a glass. “Let’s make 2018 the best year we’ve had yet!” She said. Everything seemed to be looking up for once and Andy was hoping 2018 would bring peace in the wizarding world and things would get better. Though that was probably just her hopeful thinking.
