So on the island guide post you reblogged I noticed you mentioned turnips in your tags and I was curious as to how you can make some bells off of turnips! If you don't mind explaining that is ^^
Hey, hey, thanks for asking! Hope you don’t mind if I answered this publicly. I made a sort of “guide” post about this a long time ago, and I feel like I should do a follow-up on it because I’ve recently discovered additional resources that can help newer people for turnip things!
First, let me (try to) explain turnips in the simplest of ways.
You buy turnips from Joan, a special NPC who comes every Sunday.
In the following week, you sell them off to Tom Nook (old AC games) or Reese (ACNL) when they (hopefully) offer to buy turnips for more than the price you bought them for.
This whole thing is referred to as The Stalk Market.
For example, you buy 100 turnips from Joan for 90 bells each, totaling 9,000 bells spent. On Wednesday, Nook/Reese says they are buying turnips for 150 bells each. That’s 60 bells more than you spent on Sunday. Selling the 100 turnips for that price will give you 15,000 bells. You will be 6,000 bells richer than you were last week.
Now imagine buying 10,000 turnips for 90 bells each. And then selling them for 500 bells each. That’s how you make bells off turnips. ٩(◕‿◕｡)۶
I’ll be honest, it’s not as easy as it looks, and in fact has its ups and downs (haha stalk market humor pls dont shoot me). Turnips have a shelf-life of one week, before they rot and become bells wasted. Sometimes Nook/Reese would have terrible prices over the week, and you’ll be forced to sell for less than you bought to avoid losing all of your investment.
But please don’t let this discourage you! Once you know what to do and where to go, you will be drowning in bells and wishing you had more things to spend them on. It just takes a little effort, and that’s the fun part! (≧◡≦)

The Stalk Market Wizard—helps if you want to watch your own turnip prices. Despite its claims, it’s not 100% accurate (maybe 90%), but it still helps a lot. Filling out the table every day also gets you used to all the possible patterns, and soon you’ll be predicting turnip spikes on your own.
