Turnsgiving 2025– Day 2: Songs & Music

Yet again I am late AGH. In my defense, I can only say I was working on my crack fic. 😂

For this one, I really gotta answer both parts of the prompt— my favorite song they actually used, and a song I wish they had used in the show!

I always struggle and overthink shit like picking favorites, but I think my favorite piece has to be Take Us Alive by Other Lives. I know, I know, it isn’t a historical music selection, but Abe’s little spy montage with it is quite possibly my favorite scene in Turn, and the fucking TOWNHULL ENERGY that it offers… 10/10 no notes.

Now onto what would have been another favorite if it WAS used in the show!

As tempted as I am to say another song by Agnes Obel— Familiar— some of the vocal effects on her and some of the lyrics themselves make the vibes a bit too modern, so I have to go with another song I’ve mentioned before for its Townhull vibes… Fuel to Fire by Agnes Obel!

I promise I’m not just saying it because of the amazing fic it reminds me of, it genuinely would’ve fit into the rest of the soundtrack so perfectly, and again, Agnes was already the one to sing this series’s rendition of Katie Cruel, so it doesn’t feel like a reach for me to suggest it!

Anyhow, hope you all are doing wonderfully once again, and happy very late Thanksgiving! ;p

Turnsgiving 2025– Day 5: Which Episode First Hooked You and Why?

Hey all!! Holy shit, I literally cannot even convey how upset I am at having missed certain days ugh. Hopefully before the week is over I can catch up to some of them.

Anyways, today’s prompt! This may be something I’ve talked about before, but honestly, once I sat down to watch the first episode of Turn, I was pretty immediately hooked by how good the pilot was, and always so very down for the Amrev setting, so it already had that going for it! <33 🥲

However, looking at Ben Tallmadge was also one of the things that really had me interested from the get go… and he became REALLY attractive to me after episode two, Who By Fire, so maybe that one should get the credit. 😂

Anyways, sorry I’ve sort of sucked at participating so far oh my fuck. Again, hopefully I can play some catch up soon, since I’d love to do something for all of the prompts! Thank y’all for reading, as always, and have a lovely evening! :D
