· COVID-19:

Ø More than 46,312,467 million cases worldwide: The pandemic has killed at least 1.19 million people worldwide since the end of December, according to a report drawn up by AFP. The United States is the most bereaved country with 225,689 deaths, followed by Brazil (157,397), India (119,014), Mexico (88,924) and the United Kingdom (44,896).

· France mourns several tragedies:

Ø For the third time in a month and since the opening of the trial of the Charlie Hebdo attack, a terrorist has capsized the country in horror by shedding blood on the very heart of a Catholic shrine. Carrying a Qur'an, two telephones and three knives, one of which was a 17-centimetre blade used for the carnage, the terrorist ran into faithful gathered a few days before the Catholic feast of All Saints on November 1.

Ø A man was shot dead this Thursday morning at 11:15 in Avignon by the national police. According to our information, this man carried a handgun, which he brandished to threaten passers-by first, then a national police patrol in the Montfavet neighborhood. At first, the police reportedly responded with a flashball, but the attacker did not fall and continued to advance in a threatening manner against the officials. They would have used their service weapon to neutralize it.

Ø A man known to the intelligence services and armed with a knife was arrested on Thursday morning in the city of Lyon. Spotted on the outskirts of a tramway station in a borough of the city, the individual was brandishing a knife, dressed in a djellaba and a trellis jacket. After several calls to the 17 from residents, the police arrived at the scene and arrested the threatening individual.

· Turquey :

Ø According to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, at least 58 people died and 896 were wounded in Turkey in the earthquake that also killed two teenagers in Greece. New York City’s Democratic Mayor, Bill de Blasio, appointed Juanita Holmes Chief of Patrol, placing her in charge of the 77 police stations and a majority of NYPD police officers, the first municipal police in the United States with nearly 35,000 employees.

· Mexico:

Ø A Mexican television journalist was gunned down on Thursday 29 October in Ciudad Juárez, near the border with the United States, announced Governor of Chihuahua, Javier Corral, where the city is located. He is the sixth journalist to be murdered since the beginning of the year in Mexico.

· Saudi Arabia:

Ø A Saudi driver drove into the Great Mosque of Mecca and hit one of the entrances to this most sacred site of Islam located in western Saudi Arabia, the authorities said on Saturday, October 31. Guards rushed at the driver whose car crossed two barriers before hitting one of the mosque’s southern entrances on Friday, according to officials from the holy city and videos on social networks. The authorities did not identify the man but stated that he appeared to be in an «abnormal state».

· Actor Sean Connery died at the age of 90. He was the first to say the famous one: "My name is Bond. James Bond." Sean Connery will remain the only and true spy of His Majesty whom he had interpreted on seven occasions. They said the actor “died peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his family” and added, “There will be a private ceremony followed by a memorial service to be planned once the virus is over.”

· Philippines:

Ø Nearly one million people were evacuated on Saturday, October 31, in the Philippines, as super-typhoon Goni, the most powerful of this year, heads towards the country, the authorities fearing «destructive» winds and floods. A few hours before making landfall, Goni strengthened further, moving into the super-typhoon category. It should reach the island of Catanduanes on Sunday morning with winds up to 215 km/h, before crossing the main island of the country, Luzon, warned the weather agency.
