This One, I Like!
Florentine artist Federico Andreotti’s usual painting style of “elaborate period dress and affected airs… sometimes described as Rococo Revival” [1]does NOT appeal to me in general. However, Gypsy Beauty, is undeniably captivating and is the creation of a talented artist.
Andreotti successfully captures the quiet joy of this dark haired beauty, her shy smile echoed in her deep brown eyes. With a neutral beige background highlighting her thick brunette curls, the portrait glows with the layered sunshine shades of her orange, yellow, and gold scarf. We are given no clues of the source of her happiness, but I can easily imagine a scenario to suit. 😊
