#MiniatureMonday 昭和の豆テレビ Shōwa no mame terebi / Fūkodō = Miniature TV set / Fūodō.
It’s a box, no, it’s a TV, no, it’s books!
If you have been feeling like you have been watching too much T.V. lately, this might be a solution!
Three mini books stored inside a little T.V. set made of wood with wire aerials. All enclosed in a cardboard box (filled with artificial straw and with a rice paper wrapper).
"The Showa 30s and 40s (the mid-1950s to 1970s) --core years of the post-war Showa era (1926-1989)--evoke a sense of nostalgia for many Japanese people, since it was the period of economic growth which dramatically changed their lifestyles. A variety of convenient electric appliances including TV sets were diffused and memorable events such as Tokyo Olympic Games and Osaka Expos were held in these years. In this miniature book, children's daily lives and symbolic objects of the Showa 30s and 40s were depicted."--English insert
