TV IDENT FINAL
TV IDENT FINAL

I saw an MTV ident from the 80s where the logo was being processed through a conveyor belt machine; therefore, I wanted to create a similar concept but with a modern aesthetic and Cinema 4D look to it. I also wanted the animation to play out as though it was a never-ending loop.
Since I wanted the conveyor belt to be the main object in the scene and wanted to create more procedural animation, I followed a YouTube tutorial for creating a conveyor belt in Blender. To achieve this, basically, I modelled the main belt palette, created a curve standing upright, linked the palette to the invisible curve, used the array modifier to multiply the number of palettes, then keyframed movement along the X-axis to create motion. Importing the SVG of the MTV logo, extruding the logo, then using the boolean modifier to make an indent in the gold bar, keyframing the dent when the stamp comes down, then modelling and animating the stamp, I was able to create the illusion of a modern factory branding these gold bars with the MTV logo.
If I had my time over I would make a lot of changes. I would have made the stamp animation happen a lot sooner because the logo is a bit hard to read in the final product. I would have also applied some gravity to make the stamp come down more naturally and look less stiff.
