One of the rarest and most interesting #guitars I have ever had the privilege to photograph: 1955 #Gibson #LesPaul Junior...in original natural finish. The first time I posted this #guitar I got a message from someone who is a world-renowned guitar finisher, and a person I respect in the guitar industry, who told me that this is in fact the very earliest version of the "limed mahogany" finish that nowadays we call TV Yellow rather than a pure "natural" finish. And the guitar does have "TV Model" silk screened on the headstock, so this new datum would tend to correlate. My information source went on to say that in the earliest version of the TV finish, the white layer was sprayed on very sparingly over natural pore filler. Whether this is "earliest TV" or "natural" it was only one of about 20 made in this finish EVER. Thanks to everyone out there who continue to share their vast knowledge with me!
