[TRANS] Monthly TVnavi (Sept 2017) - Asian Star: B.A.P
B.A.P, named as such because they want to be a group that “strives for the Best Absolute Perfect values”. Boasting explosive popularity in Asia, America, Europe and other various places, what do they feel about their album “UNLIMITED”, released in Japan after 1 year & 3 months?
―― Congratulations on the release of your album “UNLIMITED”. It’s been 1 year & 3 months till this new album hasn’t it.
DH: That’s right. For that measure, I think it’s an album that’s all the more listen-worthy. There are many title tracks included too and I’m confident that it’s a ‘powerful’ album packed with B.A.P colour!
―― What’s your favourite song in the album?
ZL: I like “SKYDIVE”. We created the Japanese version for this album and because the choreography is also really cool, I think we’ll be able to show a very comprehensive performance.
DH: My solo song “YOU”. It’s already meaningful that it’s my first solo song; I feel blessed to be able to sing it! I focused hard and took my time when recording it.
YJ: For me it’s “1004″. It’s a song that depicts B.A.P’s interpretation of love, and now with the Japanese lyrics, I think we can perform it with another type of feeling.
JU: I love all the songs, but my favourite is my solo song “NOW”.
YG: Each of the songs are equally dear to me. I participated in the production of all the songs in this album and they’re like my sons so I can’t choose. Sorry!
HC: I like “FLY HIGH”. Since it’s a song that was an original Japanese number, it’s one that holds an important meaning to us.
―― It’s been 5 years since your debut, what are the charms of B.A.P, and charms of the members that you have once again realised?
ZL: Each members’ own personal features. I think that’s why a strong synergy is born when the 6 of us gather together, creating B.A.P’s style. My own charm is...
DH: Being tall?
ZL: My height just kept growing and growing (laughs). No that’s not it, isn’t there something else?
DH: Hmm, your cuteness?
ZL: Because I’m the group’s maknae! (looks happy)
DH: All the members have become so handsome that it makes me think “don’t we fall into the getting-more-handsome-as-they-go-on[-from-debut] category?” (laughs). You say we were handsome when we debuted? No no not at all! Back then a large part of it was what the staff had created for us, but now, I think the things that we can show through our own selves have increased.
JU: B.A.P is the only group that brings together these 6 people on earth, and that alone is precious isn’t it (laughs). I think it was fate that the 6 of us came together. I’m happy that I’m a single piece of that.
YG: I agree fully with the members. And about my charms... I’d like to find out about that from now on.
HC: Yongguk’s charm is that he purely does his absolute best at anything!
YG: I’ve found out one of my charms (laughs). Well then, I’ll say Himchan’s charm...
HC: No thank you. I’ll talk about my own charms!
ALL: (explosive laughs)
YJ: All of us loving music is the most charming. And for my own charm, my warm voice and face. Lately, I’ve had the chance to listen to my own voice properly and I thought it wasn’t a bad one at all (laughs).
HC: That all of us have our own personalities. We think about different things even when the 6 of us are together, and that’s really interesting. My charm, is looking after people well?
DH: True, you often treated me to food in the past (laughs).
HC: I’m the type to give my love generously to the people I love.
―― It seems like B.A.P are currently flying around the world on your world tour.
DH: Just like the tour title “PARTY BABY!” conveys, it has a party-like concept to have tons of fun, and we planned it to include more EDM-style songs so everyone can jump and move about to enjoy themselves. It makes me happy to see the heated responses from each location.
HC: Each concert has a different concept, and there’s a dress code as well. In the Korean concert, we went on stage with water guns, and on the second day, the fans brought water guns too (laughs).
DH: Everyone pointed their guns to us (laughs)!
HC: It turned into a water gun battle in the end!
ZL: I want to have fun with the Japanese fans too. Everyone, please come along to have fun!
①Just like the album (title) “UNLIMITED”, what’s something that you love so much that you can do it unlimitedly?
YG: I can compose music continuously unlimitedly.
HC: I can continuously do the things other than what I’m doing right now or the thing that I should be doing at that time. I’m the type to only do what I’m interested in (laughs).
DH: I can continue practising forever.
YJ: I can drink water unlimitedly.
JU: I can love life unlimitedly.
ZL: I can worry endlessly. My latest worry is about composing.
②Your favourite Japanese phrase?
YG: Konbini (laughs) [T/N: Convenience store]. Every Japanese convenience store food is delicious. There are particularly many bento varieties and they taste good, it’s the best!
HC: Sakura. Since I love cherry blossoms!
DH: Tonkatsu! I’ve always been saying that I like tonkatsu but for some reason, Himchan hyung always mistakes it with abura-age!
YJ: Yume. [T/N: Dream] Because it’s a word that I often hear in animes.
JU: Ima [T/N: Now]. Because I like the movie “Ima, ai ni yukimasu” [T/N: English title “Be With You”].
ZL: Nomi mashou! [T/N: Let’s drink!]
③Something that you want to do in Japan?
DH: I want to holiday in Japan again.
YJ: I want to stay in Japan for an extended period and study Japanese! I want a sushi chef to take me in as an apprentice and teach me how to make sushi.
JU: I like anime, so I’d like to observe at the production location and voice actor recordings.
ZL: I heard that Japanese onsens are exceptional, so I want to go in one and relax.
