hermione abhors cooking

she hates finding a recipe to make, preparing the ingredients, standing watching a pot or pan for half an hour, then cleaning up

draco found that out when they moved in together and discovered an absurd amount of microwavable meals stuffed in her freezer

draco’s disgusted by that because they’re so flavourless and mister pampered king is used to 5 star equivalent dishes laid in front of him

so after the frozen supply runs out draco starts going to shops with her to buy proper human food as he calls it

and she groans because the supermarket is close to being her least favourite place in the world

draco has to hide his curiosity over certain items being sold

“what the hell is this, granger?!” “it’s called a dvd, draco.’

and when they get home for dinner draco turns up the volume on the wireless and they listen to music as they prepare everything and hermione finds herself enjoying it more and more as draco makes it fun to cook

and they stand at the stovetop and he’ll look over at her with a smirk and nudge his hip against hers and she’ll grin at him and roll her eyes

and the things they make actually taste good and hermione goes back for seconds

draco starts reading cookbooks since he discovers that its much more fun to make meals than have them given to you

and he’s always loved experimenting with different things, which was where his love of potions came from

for christmas, hermione buys him an apron that says ‘kiss the cook’ and he wears it whenever he’s in the kitchen

and some of the best nights they have together are in the kitchen, laughing when draco gives her something to taste and completely misses her mouth and she gets sauce all over her face, and she’ll hit him with the wooden spoon and kiss him, because that’s what his apron says to do after all

with draco around, hermione doesn’t abhor cooking anymore. rather, she enjoys it

enjoys it a lot
