Lapse is quite the... weird guy.
His appearance may either be extremely unsetting or unnerving to some, while being comforting and nostalgic to others. It depends on the person!
His face? Well he may look like an ordinary Killer variant, his face is never the same every time you look at him! It changes whether you blink or look away, long as he leaves your vision in some way, his face is different.
This also applies to mirrors, his face never matches what you see in the mirror.

Lapse does not grasp that he is a mixed up copy of someone already existing, if he were to come to realize that? He'd mutate, grow hostile, and attack anything and everything in his vicinity till he becomes disconnected again, reverting back to his natural everyday state.
His mutated form is currently unavailable.
Its similar to how your dream suddenly becomes hostile and nightmarish when you tell someone in your dream that they aren't real.
Lapse has glimpses of memories that do not belong to him, but to who he's a branch of. He can never fully remember an entire memory, either of something he hates without knowing the reason, recognizing a face he doesn't know of who, and so forth.
He is seen to... recognize various figures outside his own, such as Nightmare, Color, or the human.
His appearance is what makes him stand out the most from others, yet enough to closely represent his counterpart. His appearance is a jumble of the classic bad ending Killer, and the good ending Killer.
His pants are a clear visual of open skies with fluffy clouds, and are seen to be moving instead of a print on fabric.
His socks are a clear print of vibrant green grass, the print moves, just like his pants, and sometimes even feels like running your fingers across open grass if you touch them.
