the tism tendencies have been encouraged so im here to rant about manifest destiny and the mexican american war
so basically early america saw california and texas that at the time was owned by mexico so america tried to bargain with mexico but they offered a really shitty amount of cash for it so obviously mexico declined and then america threw a hissy fit and came up with the term "manifest destiny"
Manifest destiny was the term they used to excuse the war they waged on mexico unfairly (because they provoked mexican territory after their shitty offer was turned down and THEN waged war on mexico for even MORE of mexicos land) by claiming it was their "god given right and destiny" to expand american territory, and that mexico turning down their offer was them going against god.
so while the war waged, mexico was busy crumbling because of their long history of shit ass corrupt presidents that cant lead for shit and dont take care of their citizens, so mexico eventually lost and half of mexico was surrendered to america, such as california, texas, nevada, utah, and probably some others im forgetting. and americans being americans, all the native mexicans of those states were seen as second class citizens at BEST, a good handful of them were executed as well
so yeah live laugh love mexico cause americas got nothing but a history made with building blocks of pettiness
