So uhh bit of a controversial take, but I've been seeing this term being thrown around lately and I just think this needs to be said so people don't fucking twist this: What Fandom Misogyny is:

-Hating a female character after having a reasonable reaction to an intense situation.

-Sending death threats to actresses because of the actions of said character.

-Mischaracterizing a female character as a bitch so you can have an excuse to ship your M/M ship.

-Blaming female writers exclusively for shitty writing even when men wrote the movie/episode too.

-Editing female character designs and saying you "fixed" them by making them conventionally attractive (this can also be racist too depending on the character).

-Insulting actresses for being "too ugly" to play a role

-Infantilizing a female character and taking her agency away

What Fandom Misogyny ISN'T:

-Liking a male character over a female one for respectable reasons while being respectable to the fans of the female character

-Preferring a M/M or M/F ship over a F/F ship while being respectful of those who do prefer the F/F ship

-Calling a female character out when she DOES fuck up and RIGHTFULLY criticizing her

-Headcanoning a male character as a closeted transfem or a female character as a closeted transmasc (This can be somewhat debatable and dependent on how the author portrays it).

-Genderswaps (when not done out of malice and are just a simple "what if" scenario).

I'm sorry, but I feel this term is slowly beginning to lose its meaning because people keep using it as a "grrr, my favorite character/ship isn't as popular" talking point when this shit is actually a problem.

Y’know sometimes I worry that people not responding to me is somehow my fault or something I did wrong even when I didn’t fucking do anything too out of pocket?

Ok look I can’t stay silent on this so feel free to burn me at the stake if y’all wish.

But I feel like some of y’all need to realize that if you want more F/F fics to be made, you’re gonna have to stop holding it to a higher standard than you hold M/M or M/F fics. I cannot for the life of me state how fucking tiring it is to see a bunch of people clamoring how F/F is inherently better and “more wholesome” than M/M or M/F. Call me crazy, but I feel that this mentality is infantilizing and it needs to stop.

If you want the numbers to go up, you’re going to have to realize that there are going to be F/F fics out there that don’t cater to your tastes specially. You’re going to have to realize some sapphics out there are fucking freaks (non-derogatory) and enjoy kinks you personally find disgusting.

And this is gonna be a hard pill to swallow, but you also need to cope with the fact that some of these authors might be *gasp* straight men.

Yeah, that’s right. I said what you thought I said.

You can’t claim that there is a shortage of people willing to write F/F WHEN YOU ACTIVELY SHAME AND KICK THE MAIN DEMOGRAPHIC WILLING TO WRITE THAT STUFF OUT OF FANDOM SPACES. If you reserve fandom to be a “women/enbies only” club, then don’t be fucking surprised when women (mainly straight women) write smut that caters to their attraction. And no, shaming bi/pan women into doing it isn’t going to work either.

Long story short: Some of you need to stop being puritan terfs and accept men aren’t your fucking enemy. You can’t blame everything on misogyny. Yes, it exists. But it’s not the only thing to blame.

A thing you gotta know about me is that I absolutely wish I could not give a shit but I, in fact, give too much of a shit over things to the point my day gets ruined over the smallest things.

This might be a bit of a controversial take, but I really hate the term “glazing” and “(insert character here) apologist”

Mainly because all I feel it really does is strip away any and all nuanced discussion around a character’s personality. You have ANYTHING slightly positive to say about a character’s personality or actions when they aren’t perfect, it’s immediately shot down with all of the wrongdoings they did. Or better yet, their actions that can be interpreted many different ways has to be the worst case scenario and if you suggest otherwise you’re “glazing”. Characters can’t be nuanced anymore. They have to fit into these perfect little boxes of “has done nothing wrong in their life, ever” or “devil incarnate that deserves to be tortured for eternity.”

I fucking hate it here.

“Bit dogs howl” It’s less of a howl and more so defending myself by kicking your shit in and you getting upset you got called out for trying to attack me but ok. Whatever helps you sleep at night.

I think a problem I have is that I wanna state my honest opinions on here more often but then I see how fucking judgmental and hateful people are to those that have a slightly different take on things and then I spend literal days hating myself for having my own opinion.

This site loves to encourage critical thinking until you say something they don't like.

Caught my niece’s cold and I think I’m dying bc we literally have nothing to help a cold besides the one medicine that I’m allergic to. 

Honestly might just say fuck it and take it anyways. I’d rather have swollen phalanges and hives than feeling like my head is going to implode with every breath I inhale
