The stranger also called Masha a 'she' - seemingly deliberately, to hurt their feelings. It took a lot of restraint not to assault the man. Masha has to explain to him that they get that sometimes...

Belos later learns that Luz was called an evil word as well, all because she's bisexual. It boggles his mind and he feels sick. He can't seem to comprehend humanity attacking humanity. Their own species...?

Also, consider; Belos doom-scrolling online and seeing all the hate and vitriol he's exposing himself to, his mind reeling from the shock of it all. He's always felt himself an ally to those who didn't feel comfortable in their birth-deemed bodies, so the backlash he sees makes him sick.

“Are you okay?”

The question came from Kevin, who looked at you with a raised eyebrow and concerned eyes. You didn't reply, simply giving a small nod, but he looked unconvinced.

“Y/N, I know when something's up,” he insisted, cocking his head a little. “You can talk to me, you know that right?”

“Yeah of course, I just-” you mumbled, trying to change the conversation. “I'm fine, okay. I promise.”

Kevin shook his head at your words. “No, you're not. Please, tell me, I want to help,” he insisted, leaning forward a little in his chair. You were at home, waiting for your dad to come back, possibly Sam too depending on how the investigation went. You tried not to get too involved in their cases, it just made the waiting even more nerve-wracking.

“Y/N, if you don't tell me then I can't help you,” he continued, pleading with you now. “Please, just talk to me.”

You took a breath, and tried to calm your shaking hands and fidgeting leg. “I'll tell you, but you have to promise that you wont tell my dad,” you sighed, looking at him.

“I promise I wont tell Dean,” Kevin nodded, and you closed your eyes for a few brief seconds before the words came out your mouth.

“I think I'm bisexual.”

Kevin sat there, saying nothing at first, surprise on his face. “Bisexual?” he asked quietly.

“I mean, I don't really think, I know,” you admitted, as your hands began to tremble again. “Over the past year I've just kinda realised that, you know, I like girls too. I had a girlfriend for a few months and it just kinda.. yeah.”

As you finish your sentence your eyes go to the floor, awaiting his reaction. Would he be the same as so many at school? Don't be so greedy. It just means you're a slut. You're just confused. You feared people treating you like a freak, and Kevin's silence cut into you.

“That's great, seriously. I'm glad you've found yourself.”

You looked up with blurry eyes, your eyes meeting his kind smile. You sniffed a few times before trying to speak. “Really?”

“Of course Y/N,” he nodded, still smiling. “Why wouldn't I be? I mean, you've seen the world we live in, someone being bisexual is far from 'weird' compared to spirits and demons. But why don't you want me to tell your dad? You know he'd be just as happy for you as I am. Your uncle Sam, too.”

“He wont be,” you stated, shaking your head. “He'll think I'm weird and he'll send me away and I'll never see him again.”

“You know just as well as I do that he'd never do that to you.”

“But he would. He'll think I'm a freak like everyone else.”

“Y/N, you are not a freak.”

“But I am!”

You bolted for the door, needing to get out of the suddenly very claustrophobic atmosphere surrounding the room. Your eyes were glassy and wet, and as you pulled on the door nob you were met with a figure on the other side. You gasped slightly.

“Dad?”

He said nothing, just wrapped his arms around you tightly, letting you cry into his shirt. He smelt like the Impala and gunpowder, and his hand patted your back softly.

“Honey, listen to me,” he said quietly. “You are not a freak, you are not abnormal. You are a perfectly normal human being, and I would never dream of treating you as anything less. You're my daughter, and your sexuality doesn't change that.”

His words only made the tears flow harder, your soft whimpering turning into raking sobs. You grasped on to him tightly, unable to do anything but cry, and you could hear Kevin get up out of his seat.

“Dean? How long have you been standing there?”

“I heard it all, don't worry,” he assured him, still with his arms around you. Once you'd calmed down a little, Dean got down on one knee so that you were both at the same eye level. “I would never abandon you, never,” he said, hand on your shoulder. “And you're not the only one in the family who swings both ways.”

You frowned in confusion before gasping with a small smile. “Really?”

Dean just smiled and winked, causing you to laugh genuinely for the first time in days.
