Notably while many witnesses (on the ground, without a clear view of the horizon, and who were alerted by the sound of the explosion and thus, by the laws of physics, looked up after the explosion occurred) claimed to see a missile ascending towards TWA 800, the pilots in the air around who had a direct view of the plane, including the pilots of Eastwind 507 who were looking directly at the plane when it happened, did not report seeing anything of the sort. Only after the FBI began injecting questions about missiles into their questioning of the witnesses did anybody report seeing a missile. Many people actually initially reported something else only to revise their testimony after FBI agents asked them about "the missile," or actually had their testimony changed by the FBI.
I will never in my life understand how people who claim to be 'skeptical' can distrust the people whose entire job is to act as a watchdog for the aviation industry and government agencies while trusting information they got from the fucking US FBI

230 people lost their lives. One of those people was my mother. Even though my relationship with her was very complicated I never stoped loving her. That day and the days that followed are seared into my memory. What also hurt me is that you passed away 4 days after your birthday. You weren’t even supposed to be on that plane so you can only imagine the thoughts I had about that. Not sure if you and I would have ever reconciled our differences or even have a relationship, but I will continue to think we would have. #sip #istillmissyou #twa800
