Walkers of No End terminology
Walker/Walkers of No End: term used to refer to cats involved with, connected to, or participating in the Endless Walker religion and groups.
Endless Walker: a religion. Walkers believe that in the afterlife you live as a spirit on Earth, and you can only travel to places you have been to while alive. Because of their strong ideal of freedom, in life Walkers will travel together in groups, and will try to explore as much as possible. They don’t necessarily have a god, but instead many figures with varying importance.
Walker: one who believes and participates in the Endless Walker religion.
Covey: a small group of Endless Walkers, usually composed of one family unit, and notably lacking any typical Walker roles. An almost archaic idea in the Walker religion, most walkers living in larger groups. Sometimes mockingly referred to as a “Brace” because of this.
Flock: a large group of Endless Walkers, with certain roles. Usually composed of upwards of 10-15 cats, but rarely more than 30 adult cats. A now standard formation in the belief.
If a flock gets too big to coordinate/forces them to stay in a new location longer than the environment can support the sudden influx of cats, the youngest cats will be expected to leave when they come of age, and make their own flock.
Brace: an offensive term for an incredibly small group of walkers, with a negative association with death, “these walkers will die without even creating one new flock”. Usually means a pair of walkers, typically lovers or siblings.
Carrion: an offensive term for a single Walker traveling alone. Has an extremely negative and tragic connotation.
Coyote-face: an offensive term. One who has an ugly face.
Coyote-bellied: an offensive term. One who eats birds, like a coyote might. Has a connotation with greed and aggression.
Pawless: an incredibly offensive term, typically used to insinuate a Walker as inept, unfaithful, or useless. One without paws to walk on/unable to walk with all paws. Very ableist, although most Walkers don’t understand it as such.
