Can we talk about how when Brandon offered Negan his leather jacket and Lucille 2.0 he genuinely did not want them back? They were symbols of his past, who he was before, and who he odviously didn't want to be again.

Negan has changed, he's seen the error of his ways.

For a moment he did want to put back on the jacket, but then he remembered that jacket was part of the old Negan and he's afraid if he puts it back on he'll be that Negan again.

He found his faith in humanity again.

He lost it again when Brandon killed the mother and child, and forced Negan to kill him. Negan had to kill Brandon, he'd just murdered two innocent people in cold blood, and worse, he'd done it for Negan, in Negan's name. And he would have done worse if Negan hadn't put him down. But this time was different than the other times we've seen Negan kill, there was something about this time that broke something in him that he thought he'd healed completely.

Negan is trying so hard to be good when the world is pushing him to be bad.
