I came across this review of the finale and I couldn’t agree more. Do read it and share your thoughts. It appears many were dissapointed because the finale had no real action and wasn’t what they thought it would be. I just loved the character moments we got, that we got to really feel these characters loss. Those moments are so important I think so that we can connect and care for the characters. Besides, I think it was a good lead into season 10. We didn’t need the season to end with seeing heads on pikes and having to wait for the reveal. I much prefered it this way. The threat of war is still there to come. I’m so excited fo season 10. I still have Daryl and Carol to care and root for and the new characters have me rooting for them too. I hope their developments will continue.

And then I read his article about the pike victims deaths... His feelings are spot on to mine. He’s talking about the “The Veterans”, “The New Veterans” and the “New Characters” basically and why the 10 deaths “played it safe” but also why it was the only way to go. I share his thoughts on the “The new Veterans” thing that while they’ve been there for a long time now I don’t really feel for them. If more of them should die, (like Enid and Tara) I probably wouldn’t be too upset cause I simply don’t care enough. The exception would be Aaron, Jerry and maybe Rosita and Ezekiel. They all need much more character development though.

This guy, Erik Kain, will post more of his thoughts about Daryls character. I hope I will remember to look out for it. I’m really interested in what he might say other than this:
(Speaking of Daryl, he's become such a fantastic character this season. I like him as the leading man much more than Rick, and prefer Reedus to Lincoln now that he has actual lines and a personality. More on that in a separate piece.)
I could take her away from here. I can keep her safe on my own. +
