However, once she was home, you would rarely find her in anything except a tank top or something oversized, and her favourite pair of sweatpants.
In the apocalypse, she’d mainly wear jeans and whatever shirt she finds, mainly tank tops if she can, and some flannel as that is her favourite type of thing to wear, as well as a pair of ankle-high combat boots. In the winter, she’d of course wear more clothes.

☀︎ General Personality: Georgie oftentimes gets described as a ray of sunshine. She’s very bubbly and loves meeting new people, despite being a little bit introverted. She’s best described as an introverted extrovert. “Yeah I don’t understand it either” is what she says when questioned about it. She’s also been described to have a pure soul, although she’d deny that if asked. “I’m not a saint. I’ve done my fair share of bad things.” She’s very kind, caring, empathetic, understanding and feels things on a deep level, which was perfect for her career. She was most of her students’ favourite teacher because they knew she could be relied on, that she was someone they could trust. She’s very loyal to her loved ones, and she oftentimes puts others’ needs above her own. She loves helping others out whenever she can. She was not known to be a confrontational person before the apocalypse, but the apocalypse strengthened her resolve.

𖤓 backstory
Georgie was born and raised in Swanton, Ohio, with her younger brother named Matthew Christopher Hawkins. She was born to Maria Chloë Hawkins and Leonard Damian Hawkins. Growing up, her mother wasn’t the kindest to her. She had a lot of unrealistic expectations for Georgie, involving weight, food, manners, etc. It got to the point where Vec’s mom, Meredith, had to pack an extra lunch for Vec to give Georgie at school, or else she wouldn’t eat properly. She was the closest with her dad. Leonard absolutely adored his family, and Georgie was his baby. He loved her and Matt more than life itself.
When Georgie was nine, she found a positive pregnancy test in the trashcan and went up to her dad to show it, and that’s how it got revealed that Maria had been having an affair. Leonard had been deployed and was only back home for a week at that point, so he knew there was no way the baby could have been his. Georgie and Matt got sent to the Vectors’ for the night, and when they got back the next day, Maria was gone. The last time Georgie saw her mother was right before she moved across the country with her affair partner, and she never heard from her again after that. She signed over all her parental rights, and never bothered to fight to see her children. Leonard’s sister, Josephine Leslie Hawkins, agreed to be a legal guardian for Georgie and Matt whenever Leonard was deployed. They were a welcome addition to Josephine’s everyday life, seeing as she had lost her own son mere months after Georgie had been born. Georgie’s aunt became a mother figure for the Hawkins girl.
During her teenage years, Georgie started getting a little rebellious. She was a good kid and rarely broke any big rules, so whenever she was ten minutes past curfew or late to school, Josephine could tell something was wrong. After Georgie came home thirty minutes past curfew one day, Josephine sat down with her in her room and asked her what was wrong. It was then that Georgie explained how her mother’s infidelity and her leaving truly affected her. Now that she was older, she had a better understanding of what happened, and it ate at her. It was then that Josephine decided to have Georgie start attending therapy to help deal with those emotions.
When she was around fourteen years old, she started developing a crush on Eli James Vector, Vec’s older brother. However, the crush faded after a few years. It later got revealed that Eli had also developed a crush on Georgie when they were in their early twenties, but nothing ever came of it. They stayed really close friends, considering each other family.
When she was seventeen, Georgie had a big crush on one of the guys in her class, and he appeared to like her back. They started dating, and Georgie fell in love with him. However, it soon got revealed in front of the entire class that the guy was simply using her in an attempt to make the girl he actually liked jealous and called her a placeholder, and that absolutely crushed Georgie. She skipped school the rest of the day and Vec came along, holding her while she cried and providing anything she needed. That situation is what started Georgie’s insecurity about jumping into relationships.
Georgie graduated from Swanton High School as the valedictorian. She attended the University of Toledo, where she studied education, and moved to Atlanta to attend Emory University for graduate school. After that, she became an elementary school teacher, specifically teaching fifth graders. That was her job for years, and she absolutely loved it.
Around the age of twenty three, Georgie’s father passed away while in the line of duty. That was a really dark time in her life. His death absolutely crushed her. Up until that point, Georgie hadn’t experienced a loss like that, so she was distraught at the fact that her father was gone. She didn’t know how to handle the pain, so she resorted to things she wouldn’t normally do; partying, massive drinking, just anything that could numb the pain. However, she realized she needed a better way to cope one morning when she woke up with an excruciating hangover and realized she had missed a very important deadline for one of her assignments. What she was doing was ruining her life. That’s when she started picking up photography, and it helped her escape when she needed it.
Around a year after her father’s death, Georgie started dating a man by the name of Oliver Benjamin Roberts. At first, he was everything Georgie wanted in a partner; he was kind, caring, attentive, the whole shebang. However, as time progressed, his facade began to crack. He was extremely jealous, overly possessive, and would insult and belittle Georgie whenever “the situation called for it”. He’d constantly accuse Georgie of cheating and guilt trip her into believing his lies and manipulation. Despite all that, Georgie stayed. She believed he’d get better, that he wasn’t like that. However, one day, a slip up revealed everything, and Georgie finally gathered the courage to leave him.
She loves helping people in any way she can, so she started volunteering at Atlanta General when she was around twenty six years old. When she was around twenty six to twenty seven, whilst volunteering, there was an altercation with a patient that led to some trouble. While trying to help a nurse named Sarah by pushing her out of the way of the patient, she didn’t realize that he had pointed the knife at her until she felt the knife push into her abdomen. Everything was a blur after that. She remembered feeling absolutely terrified before passing out, and she woke up in a hospital bed a day or two later, where she saw her best friend, her brother, and her aunt. It had been touch and go during surgery, and she was grateful that she was still alive. She was placed on bed rest for two months, and during that time, Josephine and Matthew stayed in Atlanta to help care for her whilst Vec went back to work.
A couple of days before the outbreak, Georgie experienced another major loss in her life. Her aunt had passed away. She battled epilepsy her whole life, and that’s what ended her life. When she found out, Georgie was distraught. She had been making plans to go back home with her aunt just that morning, and suddenly, she had to start planning a funeral. However, that time around, she promised herself that she wouldn’t fall back into bad habits. She wouldn’t let herself. She was better than that.
When the outbreak happens, Georgie is with Vec in the emergency room at Atlanta General. The two barricaded themselves in a room to stay safe from the walkers until they could come up with a plan to escape. When they do, they go and grab Vec’s spear from her car and duck into a store, where Georgie finds a compound bow and arrows, as well as a gun behind the counter. The two wander around for about a week before being found and brought back to the quarry camp by Shane Walsh, where they then reunite with Scud, and Georgie eventually meets Daryl Dixon.
