Mitch Relationship Headcanons!

Doesn’t try to be. If he likes you, he’ll just say it straight: “Yeah, I like you. Don’t make it weird.” His affection is messy but real.

He’s fiery and quick to anger, especially if someone disrespects or threatens you. He’d throw himself into a fight without hesitation you’re part of the few things he feels are worth protecting.

In front of others, he keeps it lowkey maybe an arm around your shoulders, maybe a smirk when you’re around. But in private, he’s clingier than he’ll admit. He likes having you close, and will drape himself over you like a human blanket.

Mitch shows love through touch and small acts. He’ll mess with your hair, tug you closer while sitting, or hand you a makeshift knife he sharpened himself with a grunt like, “Here. For you.”

Oh, he’s bad at hiding it. If someone flirts with you, Mitch glares daggers and gets extra possessive. Sometimes it’s childish (snide remarks, clinging to you more than usual), sometimes it’s explosive if pushed.

Despite his roughness, he has this vulnerable tenderness that comes out when you’re alone. He’ll let his guard down, maybe even admit his fears about the future. He doesn’t like showing weakness, but he trusts you with it.

He’s hotheaded. You two might clash, but he cools off faster than expected, usually mumbling an apology like, “I didn’t mean it, alright? Don’t leave mad.” He values you too much to let fights linger.

Mitch might not know how to be romantic in a traditional sense, but once he’s with you, he’s ride-or-die. You become one of the only bright spots in his chaotic world, and he won’t let you go easily.

He’s surprisingly good at grounding you when you’re upset and gruff words like, “Hey, you’re alright. I’ve got you,” while he awkwardly pats your back, but he means it more than anyone else.

Deep down, Mitch craves the idea of stability and safety. Sometimes, when it’s quiet, he’ll half-joke about what it’d be like to live in a world where you could just.. be normal teens together. It’s both sad and sweet.

Mitch isn’t the perfect romantic, but his love is raw, protective, and honest. With him, you always know he means what he says and even in the apocalypse, he’ll fight tooth and nail to keep you safe and loved.

When You’re On Your Period

Characters Included: Luke, Nick, Kenny, Javier, David, Tripp

Luke:

Luke isn't used to traveling with women that have periods, so when you're distant and moody he assumes he messed up. It isn't until another girl in the group explains to him you're having a 'lady situation' that he softens with understanding. Hell talk softer to you, not to infantalize you but just to ensure you know that he's doing his best to be careful with your cycle. He does his best to find pads or tampons, anything to help you with your situation. Late at night he'll knock on your door. "Hey, brought you somethin'." He says as he carefully hands them to you. "Thought you might need 'em...uh, anyway," he brushes the back of his neck sheepishly. "I also scored you a chocolate bar if you want, I know back then a lot of women said they liked chocolate during that time of the month or in this case just time since we don't know what the months are anymore..." he rambles like an adorable dork until you shut him up with a kiss and cuddles.

Nick:

Nick also lacks experience with periods, but he tries to be as careful with your mood swings as possible. "Don't be mad...but I wasn't able to find any chocolate out there-" he'll take the pillow thrown at him, knowing you're just frustrated over candy and not genuinely hating him. "Don't worry, I found something else that's sweet." He pinches your cheek, finding your petulant pout adorable. He'll massage your shoulders and feet, whatever feels sore until you're relaxed. "Anything else I can help ya with? Just say the word." He'll always do what he can.

Kenny:

Kenny is pragmatic about it: "We need to find pads and cloths, anything to keep ya from making a mess on yerself. I'll look for painkillers on my next run, dontchu worry 'bout a thing. I'll go first thing in the mornin'." He checks in with you, making sure your cramps aren't bothering you too much. He'll playfully threaten your uterus for hurting you, just to see a smile on your face. "There's my girl." He says as he leans down to press a kiss to your forehead. "It'll be over soon, y'know I know one way to make it go away for a while- ow!" He'll take your hit in stride, chuckling with you. "Thought I'd give it a shot."

Javi:

Javier has snacks on deck, pulling one out of his bag for you every time you get a bit grouchy. He'll always follow it with the joke 'you're not you when you're hungry just to see you roll your eyes and pretend to not find it funny. If you bleed through, he'll take off his jersey to tie around your waist, at least until he's able to help you get fresh clothes or period care. He'll ease up on his teasing a little, but only until your period's done. He'll tell you every taunt he held back when you're better, just to laugh with you.

David:

David will mostly be focused on his scouting team, but if he notices something is off with you he puts the pieces together. He'll approach it pragmatically, assessing your cramps, flow, and will keep track as best as possible for when it comes next. He keeps his own makeshift calendar of the days, crossing them off to remind himself and you when it's coming. He'll sneak some extra snacks from the community pantry for your comfort. His vulnerablility is vague, but enough for you.

Tripp:

Tripp went out of his way to pick some flowers to make a bouquet for you. He brought it to you in the morning, having already known what time of the month it was because he saw your subtle wince earlier. "Got these for you, if you need anythin' I'm here darlin'." He'll take over all of your duties for the week, refusing to let you overexert yourself. "Ah ah, you're a valuable asset to Prescott, there's no way imma let my lady get dirty." He'll keep you company, letting you use him and his warmth as a pillow/heating pad.

When you two got together, clem thought you were the sweetest, you would always take care of her, and AJ, you would read stories to her before bed, and you two hadn't kissed yet, I guess she was waiting for you to make the first move, and you were waiting for her to make the first move...that didn't happen, she would compliment you and she knew you would get flustered when she did,(ˢᵒ ˢʰᵉ ᶜᵒᵐᵖˡⁱᵐᵉⁿᵗᵉᵈ ʸᵒᵘ ᵐᵒʳᵉ ᶜᵘˢ ˢʰᵉ ᵗʰᵒᵘᵍʰᵗ ⁱᵗ ʷᵃˢ ᵃᵈᵒʳᵃᵇˡᵉ) eventually clem wanted affection like any other normal couple, so she had asked to kiss you and oh my god you turned a bright red like holy shit that shit was brighter than anyone's future in Ericson- sorry. She realised your flustered state and couldn't help but laugh a little, I mean you looked adorable trying to cool yourself down, by fanning your face with your hands, but she didn't force you or anything, you guys went slow when dating, and when you guys did kiss, for the first time you had no idea how to, so that made you even more nervous, it was like you still had a crush on your lover.

When you first arrived Louis was excited to meet you, you were so kind and sweet and understanding and your smile god it was the definition of perfection to him, and Louis flirts a lot, with everyone, so when you two got to know each other better he flirted with you for the first time, you didn't say anything so he looked at you to make sure he didn't say anything to offend you, but it turns out, that you were speechless and extremely red, he gave you a cocky smile before laughing a bit, "wow I think that's the first time I've left you speechless." when you to got together, he flirted with you in front of the others just to see you get flustered, the others would be glancing at you or just laughing, so when Louis was playing the piano for you he looked over, he wanted to kiss you, so he leaned in to kiss you, you were a bit shocked at first but accepted it kissing him back when you two separated, he leaned back chuckling, he would also tease you, but overall you were so adorable to him, the way you looked at him, the way you would look away when he said something to tease you, he loved you a lot.

Okay so Violet has been in a relationship with Minnie before, and she never really got bashful as much, she was just a bit antisocial, so when you first arrived you two became friends, and she thought you were okay, you were bubbly, also kinda sassy, so she didn't think much of it until she realised she ended up developing feelings for you, and oh god when she realized that's she had feelings for you, she dropped so many hints like she would give you some of her food, or she would hold hands with you, etc, so when you didn't get the hint, she became a little annoyed just a little bit, and then when you two were stargazing she finally told you, she was a bit embarrassed but she felt some weight lift of her shoulders, feeling a lot better she looked at you and you were a bright red like you looked like a tomato, she blinked a couple of times before asking of you were okay, anyway when you two got together, she leaned in for a kiss, your eyes were wide and your heart was beating so fast, once she pulled back she raised her eyebrow, before laughing, it was very obvious that you didn't know how to kiss but she didn't say anything, you were already red and she didn't want make you even more red, she loves you so much you are so sweet, and she loved when you blushed, or got shy, over small compliments, (she complimented you more after she found out you got red from compliments)

Mitch was just kinda busy sharpening his knife when you first arrived, he didn't think you were that special just like the others, but it turns out you two had a lot in common, one main thing that he liked about you was that you knew how to make these really cool knives, and that caught his attention, he thought you were so cool, you even knew tricks with them, so mitch would walk over and you would be making a knife or he would be watching you from afar practising throwing your knife, at the target, Mitch would watch you very closely, with admiration, (sorry if that's kinda creepy) and you looked so cool omg- but you, on the other hand, would be side eyeing Mitch like, why are you looking at me?

Anyways it made you extremely nervous and flustered so much so that you would be missing the target like your hands were sweaty, and you could tell that he kinda admired you, and when you would turn to look at him he would look away, but anyway, when you two got together, it took him quite a long time to show affection, like my guy didn't cuddle, he didn't really kiss you in front of the others, and you didn't mind because even though you two were a couple now, the thought was so embarrassing like you were basically a high school girl having a crush and going mental, I mean you were adorable though when he did peck your cheek or your forehead, he would watch red slowly form on your complexion, and when you would try to show him affection too by kissing him on his forehead or lips, you would always pull away with a red face, and he would just laugh.

When Marlon first saw you, you were surviving alone, and you seemed to be doing a very good job, but you were also in need of assistance, you were clearly hurt, so Marlon took you in, and Ruby patched you up, when you woke up you didn't seem to speak as much, but when he got to know you better you were a ball of sunshine, you were very sweet and you were always up to helping others, but what he loved, even more, was when you first saw Rosie you were so happy, she was so fricking adorable and you instantly started to treat Rosie like she was your own pet dog, you would always share your food with her and Rosie seemed to like you too, when you and Marlon got together, Marion would say give you small affections in front of others such as placing an arm around you, or kissing you on the cheek, it was only sometimes, but it would always get you extremely flustered, he thought you looked so adorable, and yes he would tease you a bit, but only sometimes, he just wanted to see that sweet face if yours turn red.

summary: luke comes back from gathering supplies with a nasty gash across his face, and you're the one tasked with cleaning him up.

"Sit." (Y/N) demanded, grabbing hold of Luke's shoulders and pushing the Southerner down onto the rugged, dirty couch. He doesn't protest, instead squinting to try and avoid blood dripping from the gash across his face and into his eye. How he got this gnarly injury, he can't quite explain. The moment he stepped through the door, hand over his face and blood leaking through his fingers, he was swarmed with questions of interrogation, but he never gave a straight answer - the only thing he confirmed was that a lurker wasn't the culprit.

Now, as he sat on the couch, (Y/N)'s familiar and comforting touch across his forehead, he felt a little less overwhelmed. They looked at him with eyes full of concern, brow bone pulling together as they attempted to assess the severity of his injury. They came to the conclusion that whilst the gash wasn't life-threatening, the risk of infection made itself evident, and it needed to be stitched up. They'd gathered medical supplies the moment Luke was through the door, with or without Carlos' permission.

"It's not that bad, honest," Luke insisted, his hands resting on his lap, fingernails picking at the frayed denim of his jeans. (Y/N) merely looked at him before placing a wet rag on his forehead, trying to wipe away some of the blood that had gathered. Luke gritted his teeth and hissed in pain, a small mutter of "shit" accompanying the sound. (Y/N) scoffed a little, placing the rag down. They stayed on their knees in front of him, engrossed in the procedure of fixing their favourite cabin member up. "That fuckin' hurt.."

"Okay, you big baby," they chuckled, grabbing small pieces of medical tape. As they studied the tape, then Luke's face, and then the tape again, they came to the realisation that they'd have to get alarmingly close to his face to put the tape on with precision. So, they took a deep breath and sat beside Luke, their free hand floating to his chin and directing his face to them. The man sitting opposite looked embarrassed, lips pursing together in a tight, jagged line and his tawny eyes widening. "Stay there." (Y/N) stated as they released his chin. Carefully, with the utmost focus, they placed the first piece of tape over his wound, ensuring that it was positioned correctly.

They felt Luke's shaky breath brush against their face, the bridge of his perfectly sculpted nose now sporting a fresh new colour - that colour was an embarrassed pink.

(Y/N) stayed close to his face, their breaths mingling every so often, until eventually, their work was done, and they leaned away from Luke's face to simply admire his work. Luke raised his hand to the wound slowly, flinching when his fingers barely brushed against it. When he glanced at (Y/N), he witnessed them take a deep breath, ready to go over the care he needed to take concerning the wound, but he stopped them before they got the chance, raising his hand with his own smile.

"I got it, I got it," he mused, accent thick, as it always was. (Y/N) faltered a little, before their eyes brightened back up when they noticed Luke's smile. "You wanna hear how I got this gnarly scar now?"

Luke relationship headcanons!

Luke’s the kind of guy who treats you like a partner, not just someone to protect he wants to be a team with you.

He’s very down-to-earth and not flashy with romance. His affection shows more in actions  like sharing his food, keeping watch longer so you can rest, fixing things for you rather than big declarations.

He’s goofy sometimes, trying to lighten the mood when the world feels too heavy, but if something is bothering you, he drops the jokes and listens.

Luke’s a touch-oriented person. He likes casual touches like an arm around your shoulder, brushing your hair back, or squeezing your hand when you’re nervous.

He’s also careful about it, if you’re uncomfortable with physical touch, he finds other ways to reassure you, like a smile or a joking comment to break tension.

He doesn’t care much for grand kisses in front of others, he prefers small, private moments.

Luke isn’t controlling, but he’s definitely protective. If someone talks down to you or acts threatening, he’s right there, calm but firm.

He trusts your capabilities but still hovers a bit if you’re in danger. “I know you can handle yourself, doesn’t mean I ain’t gonna be there to back you up.”

If you get hurt, he takes it personally, he’ll go quieter, more serious, because it eats at him.

Luke remembers little details! how you like your coffee, the stories you’ve told about your pre-apocalypse life, the songs you hum under your breath.

He shares rare comforts if he finds a chocolate bar, a book, or even a decent blanket, it’s going to you before he even thinks about keeping it.

You’ll often catch him watching you from across camp with that soft, proud smile he doesn’t even realize he’s wearing.

Luke doesn’t like fighting with you. If you argue, he’ll raise his voice a little in the moment, but he’s quick to cool off and apologize if he crossed a line.

He’d rather talk things out than let them fester.

If you’re mad at him, he’ll give you space, but he’ll still check in quietly, like leaving food near you or asking if you’re okay without forcing a conversation.

Luke doesn’t make unrealistic promises about the future, he’s been through enough to know how unpredictable things are.

But he’ll still talk about “one day” plans, even if they’re just dreams. small farm, fishing trips, maybe even a place where you don’t have to carry a gun all the time.

Nick Relationship Headcanons!

Nick is awkward at first, he overthinks everything he says and does, especially early on, worried he’s going to mess it up.

Once he trusts you, he’s surprisingly warm, open, and goofy, letting you see the side of him that cracks dumb jokes and smiles more often.

He’s self-deprecating but lights up when you compliment him it means a lot coming from you.

Nick is very physical in small, unconscious ways, brushing snow off your shoulders, bumping into you playfully, sitting so close your knees touch.

He likes hugs. A lot. He holds them longer than he probably should, just because it makes him feel grounded.

He’s shy about big romantic gestures, but you can tell how much he cares from the way he looks at you when he thinks you’re not paying attention.

Nick can be a bit impulsive if he thinks you’re in danger even reckless.

He’ll stand between you and any threat without thinking twice, even if it’s not the smartest tactical choice.

After you’ve had a close call, he’s more clingy than usual for a while, constantly checking in to make sure you’re okay.

Nick tries to include you in everything! if there’s a plan, he wants to hear your thoughts; if there’s a watch shift, he’ll ask to be paired with you.

He remembers small things you say, like your favourite food or stories from before the outbreak and will try to bring them up later to make you smile.

If he finds something while scavenging that reminds him of you (a trinket, a charm, a warm scarf), he’ll awkwardly give it to you, mumbling something like, “Uh… thought you might like this.”

Nick can get defensive quickly if he feels attacked, especially about his mistakes.

He’s not great at hiding when something’s bothering him, his tone and body language make it obvious.

He cools off faster with you than with anyone else, though, and he’ll sheepishly apologise if he crossed a line.

Nick doesn’t like to think too far ahead, it scares him but with you, he’ll sometimes daydream about finding a safe place and living quietly.

He has a “as long as you’re there, I’m good” attitude about the future.

He has this half-smile he only ever uses around you.

If you’re ever upset, he tries to cheer you up with light teasing or little distractions, even if he’s bad at the whole “emotional comfort” thing.

He genuinely thinks he’s lucky to have you and will say it outright sometimes, usually in a quiet moment by the fire.

Louis shows his love through laughter and play. He’ll serenade you on his piano with silly improvised songs about you, even if they’re embarrassing.

Loves physical closeness draping his arm over you, leaning against you, or sitting shoulder-to-shoulder.

He cracks jokes when he’s nervous, but when he sees you upset, he drops the act and gets real.

He’ll remind you often: “Hey, don’t forget you’re the best thing that’s happened to me in this dump.”

He doesn’t posture or act tough, instead, he tries to de-escalate conflict and keep you out of danger.

If someone hurts you though? Jokes and charm are gone, and he’s surprisingly sharp-tongued and defensive.

Around others, he’s the funny, laid-back guy. But when you’re alone, he gets way more vulnerable. He’ll talk about his fears, his regrets, and how much you mean to him.

If you’re sad, Louis is immediately in comfort mode. Expect a dumb piano song, a corny joke, and then him pulling you into his chest until you smile again.

He’s not afraid to look ridiculous if it means cheering you up.

He’ll “borrow” little things to make gifts for you flowers pressed in a book, hand-carved trinkets, or a song he’s been working on.

Loves sneaking you away from the group for quiet moments by the piano, or walks in the forest.

He looks at you like you’re magic. He’s the type to stare when you’re not looking, grinning like a dork.

He’ll randomly blurt out, “I love you,” in the middle of conversations, like he can’t hold it back anymore.
